I'm cloning from a repository based  on a Windows server with files in UTF-8.The repository contains files named XXXXXX.pli I'd like to clone to z/OS with the target codepage IBM-1047, but I cant get it to workI have placed .gitattributes file in the repository and also in the target work dataset,but I get no codepage conversion.Where should .gitattributes be located and are the any other setting there must be switched on/off or set ? Hi all,I am a bit confused what to download for the free variant.First I seeminiconda-zos-1.2.1-2020-12-23.run which has a corresponding appdev_manifest_1.2.1.txt. In the appdev file mentions python=3.7.0=36Then I seeminiconda-zos-2.0-2022-01-17.run with no corresponding appdev_manifest_2.0.txtQuestions: Is the 2.0 file the one which is based on IBM Python? Hi.OpenSSL recently reported critical/high vulnerability CVE-2022-3602 which is a buffer overrun in v3.x that is fixed in v3.0.7.Can you confirm that this vulnerability is not present in the OpenSSL supplied with Rocket z/OS Open-Source tools or any other z/OS tool supplied by Rocket?The "openssl version" command shows OpenSSL at v1.0.2 in Rocket Open-Source tools for z/OS so it would appear that this version is not affected.Thanks.

After updating Miniconda  with miniconda-zos-2.0-2022-01-17.run and appdev_manifest_1.2.1.txt,  Python 3.9.5 was installed in the base environment.A few questions:1)  All of the packages I installed in the "base" environment prior to the update had to be re-installed. Is this to be expected?2)  I created a new environment and installed several packages from my file channel. How do I install Python 3.9.5 into this environment?3)  Using Python 3.9.5, how do I install the boto3 python package? Can I run pip3 install boto3? I saw this message after cancelling the download.WARNING: You are using pip version 21.3.1; however, version 22.3 is available.You should consider upgrading via the '/hewitt/rocket/miniconda/bin/python3.9 -m pip install --upgrade pip' command.Thanks,Gary

The scenario is this. Multiple users working on a repo user a has branch A and user b has branch B user a needs to merge branch B into branch A merge fails as branch B is only on the server (remote) rather than local Using Git version 2.26.2-82 The workaround is to : user a does a checkout branch B - this gets it local user a does a checkout branch A - return to the users branch user a can successfully do a git merge I've tried git fetch --all and it does not fetch branch B to the local repo.Thoughts?  Is this a bug in the git version I'm using? Generating a crl works fine with openssl 1.1.0c but not with openssl 1.1.1kFollowing command gives response "Using configuration from openssl.cfg" but does not create an out file.openssl ca -gencrl -keyfile zos.ca.key -cert zos.ca.pem -out zos.ca.crl.pem -config openssl.cfgecho $? gives a code of 1.Any ideas on how to debug this?   Adding -verbose does not give anything more.openssl ca -revoke  does not work either.openssl crl -in   will correctly display a crl created by openssl 1.1.0c

My apologies upfront as I am clueless about  the subject for which I'm about to request assistance.I want to install curl on z/OS.  I've used curl on other platforms and am interested to install on z/OS.  I downloaded the package from the Rocket download site, I went to the readme, install,  and other docs and z/OS is mentioned only in the "list of operating systems" but not as an install location.  From looking through this forum, it appears that other tools are used to install this curl version on USS..z/OS?  I need "For Dummies" version of where to even begin to install curl on z/OS.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all, We have a version of vim from several years ago, which was obtained from the download site as a .tgz and installed in the pre-conda days. We've been happily using this on a daily basis for some time, but recently there has been some more interest in some of the other tools such as Python. I've now installed all the free packages from the anaconda site via conda, which obviously includes the latest vim. I've noticed a difference in behaviour of vim between the two packages. I have a requirement to Git manage ISPF tables.  The members have been transferred from a z/OS PDS in binary format and have a CCSID of binary and a USS file format of binary. Hello, I'd like to ask some questions about using curl in zos, to be more specific I'm exploring how to upload/download things from zos to Nexus. The command like this :curl -v -u id:pw -X "POST" "nexusurl" .......skipped the remaining input for nexus My questions are :1. With above command, it would be showed with SSL error as the Nexus server is SSL only.If I insert this --cacert into the command, the connection would be good :--cacert /path/cert.pem  where the cert.pem is having the required SSL cert Is there anyway to setup the curl with default cert path so that we don't need to specify the --cacert location in the command?2. Alternatively, Is there any way to refer a RACF keyring to access the SSL cert when we use curl ?3. The file to be uploaded to Nexus would be also specified in the curl command, which seems to be supporting USS file path only, is curl command able to support a zos dataset instead of a USS file ? 

A command like this "git show a325acf:TEXT/TEST.txt  >/tmp/test.txt"  should extract from commit a325acf the file TEXT/TEST.txt and save it to /tmp/test.txt. My TEXT/TEST.txt file happens to contain all hex characters from X'00' to X'FF'  (excluding X'15') .  If I perform a SuperC comparison between my file and the file extracted file (/tmp/test.txt)  from the git show command I'd expect the files to be the same.  But that is not what I am getting (see extract below)Some of the the characters, on the white lines, are now two bytes and not one. Now I understand that converting IBM-1047 to UTF-8 will translate some characters from a single byte to a two byte representation,  but I would expect that when translating from UTF-8 encoding to IBM-1047 the two bytes would be translated back to one. This is certainly what is happening when to perform a "git checkout" or "git restore"  but not with the "git show".   ------------------------------Gary FreestoneSystems ProgrammerKyndryl IncMt H
