Printing is done via print units. Theoretically, you should be able to define a print unit that defines the connection to the HP printer. Then, when you print to that print unit, the output will appear on the printer.
I have never printed direct from QM (or UV) because all of our output is in the form of Excel spreadsheets. Once we open that in Excel, printing is quite simple.
I would suggest something like this. Define a print unit as an HP PCL printer with output directed to the $HOLD file. Then use the Pagetech PCL Reader to open the hold file, and print from that program.Â
The print unit definition would be something like:
SETPTR 0,90,65,0,2,3, AS NEXT ES, PCL, CPI 12, LEFT.MARGIN 2, BRIEF
