Hi Alberto,

Creating and using tape files should work pretty seamlessly for you between QM and D3. I just ran a sanity check test and it works as I remember.

In QM,

:SET-DEVICE C:\\TAPES\\TOD3
Warning: Device/file 'C:\\TAPES\\TOD3' does not exist.
Writing to this device will create a new file.
:T-REW
BOT
Block size : 500

:T-DUMP TDTEST
00001 1 - 5
00002 2 - 5
00003 3 - 5
3 items dumped
:T-REW
BOT
Block size : 500
:T-DET
Detached 'C:\\TAPES\\TOD3'

In D3:
:dev-make -t tape -a "c:\\tapes\\tod3,p"  (for Windows)
dev-make: 'M65535' (x'0004FFFF') created
:chg-device 2 name=/tmp/tod3 type=floppy density=pseudo (for Linux)

Tape Status           21 Aug 2024  11:50:15
 #   Type             Density           Owner   Device Name
--------------------------------------------------------------------
 4 | Floppy         | Pseudo Floppy   |       | c:\\tapes\\tod3

Tape number 4 has been added to the above list.

:set-device 4

[1705] Tape device is assigned to a hard disk file (pseudo floppy).

Hope this helps.
