I am attempting to install miniconda 1.2.1 into USS on z/OS 2.4.  The install seemed to run fine but when I try to enter any conda command I am receiving the following:
bash-4.3# ~ conda repo login
bash: /u/racfadm: EDC5123I Is a directory.
bash-4.3#

where /u/racfadm is my home directory.  What have I forgotten to do?  Thanks!

Hi George Dranes,

Can you give the exact steps how did you install miniconda.
Also the output of the following commands:

env | sort
type conda
conda info
conda config --show-sources

According to documentation, you should update .profile or .bashrc files.
So can you also give us cat .bashrc or cat .profile with lines you're added

Thanks,
Alex

Alex,
I started from scratch with Miniconda 2.0, the installation was successful and I've updated .profile and .bashrc.  When I attempt a conda search, I receive the following.  I would like to use the public channel.

bash-4.3# conda search m*
Loading channels: failed

CondaHTTPError: HTTP 401 UNAUTHORIZED for url <https://condaserver.rocketsoftware.com/api/repo/zoss-appdev/zos-z/repodata.json>
Elapsed: 00:00.416400

The remote server has indicated you are using invalid credentials for this channel.

If the remote site is anaconda.org or follows the Anaconda Server API, you
will need to
(a) remove the invalid token from your system with `anaconda logout`, optionally
followed by collecting a new token with `anaconda login`, or
(b) provide conda with a valid token directly.

Further configuration help can be found at <https://conda.io/docs/config.html>.

Hi George Dranes,

If you are on a support contract use conda repo login command to login to Rocket’s secure conda server.
If you are not:
remove channel alias line in your .condarc (you can check your config files by this command: conda config --show-sources)
the following line should be removed:
channel_alias: https://condaserver.rocketsoftware.com/api/repo

also if you are looking for something by this mask use quotation marks
e.g.: conda search 'm*' -c zoss-appdev

Thanks,
Alex

That was it.  Thanks so much for the help!
