Hi

In UnifAce 9, there was a nice feature:
When clicking the "test"-button,  UnifAce ask one if to recompile when not done.
In UnifAc10, there is no such question.
And when this is a problem with the underlying repository model, you have to change this ... 🙂


UnifAce:
Your are/was such a good language for 30 years, but don't try to make UnifAce "modern" in such a way, that UnifAce is not longer UnifAce.
Not all "ideas" from other languages or version control requirements are good for UnifAce!
If UnifAce to strive for other languages/"studios" by jettison the principals, then one (programmer) can buy this other tool right away.

As the 'Test' option only noticed changes to the component itself, it was limited in use anyway. Changes in entities, include proc, etc. are not detected, also not in Uniface 9.

With this in mind we have added a 'Compile & Test' option to Uniface 10 next to the 'Test' option. You as developer know what you have changed and we rely on you to choose the right option.

Yey, includes and data modell changes are not recognized by UF9
But if some edit the component or yourself did so (unnoticed) you got this "warning".

So I would be a great anhancement to check all this possible changes but to do nothing 🙂

In U9, you even had in the middle of a chance to test (and debug) the prevoius version responding NO.


In U10, the "test" Action is disabled after the sourcecode is modified,
so no chance to go back to the old version for some inspiration.


Providing the same feature in U10 causes a lot of efforts which unfortunately is not supportd by Uniface.

The 'Test' option is there if a resource is found even when its old to allow you to test the previous version of a component.
