Is the file in question located in a ZIP archive? The CHECKSUM property is only available for files that are in a ZIP archive. For details see:

• Uniface Reference > ProcScript Reference > ProcScript: Functions > $fileproperties

Table: Properties that can be returned by $fileproperties and $lfileproperties
