Hello,

I have translated our application into a new language and I need now to create over 7000 messages in Uniface. I would like to know what is the best method for importing these new messages.
- Can I just insert new record in table UMSG via SQL ?

- Can I import some XML file ? In that case, what would be the XML format ?

Thank you,

Stephane

You should be able to export the messages from one language using the export feature, which will put them in XML format.

A global search and replace for the language and then modifying the messages and you can re-import and compile.

Probably, the best solution is to develop a silly form using DICT model to import a CSV with all messages into the entity UMSG.

Or, just export one single message and you get the XML format to import 7000.

Thanks for the proposals.
I have exported the messages in one language and I have been able to update the language and the text from the xml file.
Then import worked fine as well.
