Is it possible for a node locked license to get a 8011 - License not available error message?

Hi Larry,

Error 8011 indicates that the license does not contain a valid feature for the requested system / user

License features are bound to a system. In case of node-locked licenses the features are locked to one or more systems directly.

If a request done by a Uniface application is from a system that has not its locking code in that license file, it will be denied. User will then get this 8011 error message.

Also, when features are missing for that application or when the Uniface version is higher than allowed by the license feature, you will receive the 8011 error.

To get a little more insight in what could be the cause see knowledge article: How and What to request on Uniface Licenses

How about a situation where the same batch job runs multiple times a day on the node locked system and fails only once a day when it gets the 8011 error message? How can you figure out what is causing the license check to fail?

The reason why a file is not being read can be caused by a lot of external factors.

To avoid DLM clients being the culprit, it is advised to upgrade the DLM client files that are in the uniface/common/bin directory to the latest version available at: Uniface License Service DLM 9.2.0.7.359 available
