Hi

I do have a give component with entities/fields are painted
Now I want to add another field to a already painted entity.
As it is not possible to paint an anonymous field (as in UF9) how to add a field?

Okay, one can go to "model" and search for the entity, double click and then search the field
We do have ~2800 entities so it is not an easy task to pick the right one, especially as you don't see the name of the entity in the painted entities.

UF10:
So I need to get the right entity name, then go to model, look for this entity, open the "subview" of the fields and then serach for a field, click it and painter it into the entity frame

UF9:

Paint an field in the entity, right mous rename, got the field, and that it is.

Find the error in handling such simple tasks... 🙂

Ingo,

What I do in most cases is just draw a non-dbms entity in the component editor.

Click on the default name 'ENTITY.NONMODEL' and start typing the name of the entity you would like to have.

The smart suggestions are great!

Same for the fields...

Hi Peter

I don't want to paint a new entity but a new field in a give entity 🙂

the same!

Draw a 'dummy' field. Click on the name. Start type or clear it. IDE will show all fields from that entity.

In the define frames view, select the 'Templates' tab, (this is the equivalent of the widget selector in u9), select the widget type you would like to draw,  Draw the new field on the display, This creates a new field in the 'tree' next to the display called (e.g.) EDITBOX. Click in this name and clear it, or start typing the field name you wish to call it, it will prompt for this as a suggestion from the painted entity.

I think it's actually slightly fewer clicks/right clicks than U9, but it could be more responsive (it's uniface 🙂 ) the pause between drawing and the name list refreshing is frustrating.
