Hello everybody,

we use Uniface 9.7.5 (32 Bit) with patch p9705045 and are currently migrating to Uniface 10.

The migration will continue for some time, so we still need Uniface 9.7.5.

We have the following problem:

The Uniface IDF reacts very slowly in the source code editor.

The further down you work in the editor, the keyboard entries become slowlier.

At the top we are still in the tenths of a second, at the bottom a character lasts several seconds.

Our programmers use Microsoft Surface with Windows 10 as a client to connect to an exclusive development system (Windows Server 2016) via RDP,

that is their development environment and the IDF is there.

This problem only occurs if the client uses Windows 10 as the operating system. We do not have this problem with elux clients.

The problem only occurs remotely, if the IDF is accessed on the remote system (Windows Server 2016) via RDP or ICA protocol.

If Uniface is installed locally on the Microsoft Surface, the IDF is very fast.

There was a similar problem under

Do you have any ideas?

Best regards and thanks in advance

Hi Michael

Maybe a network problem?
(okay, when in editor, this should not be the problem)

Do you update the right tree with the entries when there a less then X entries in proccode?
There is a settings for widget "urichedit" to set this number
RichEdit=urichedit(font=procboxfont;procbox=on;maxtags=20)
If this number is to high, then the update is time consuming

Hello Michael,

This sounds like Issue RI-3513 (Proc Editor becomes unresponsive on Windows systems with touch screens). You might want to check if the Windows Service 'Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service' is enabled on the Server. Disabling this service should resolve the problem.

Alternatively you also could disable the ProcBox property of the editor, but then you'll lose the code highlighting. This is also described in the workaround of the above mentioned issue.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Daniel Iseli

Hello Daniel, hello Ingo,

thank you very much for your replies. Deactivating the Windows Service 'Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service solved our problem. Great

Best regards
