why is it not possible to give a Form a more meaningful name?
Yes the Doku says 16 Characters for Forms:
But why do I need a field with 60 Characters, if I can not insert more then 16 Characters???

Hello Norbert,
At this moment the compiler and runtime can only handle component names that are <= 16 characters. The corresponding repository field has been enlarged in Uniface 10 so that it already is prepared for possible future enhancements. In case the compiler and runtime are enhanced in a future Uniface 10 release to handle larger names then the repository does not need to be changed anymore. I think that was the basic idea here.
I hope this clarifies this matter.
