The only problem with the database are the overflow tables. Hope, UnifAce will convert them to "text" or "varchar(max)" :-) Ingo
This is not correct, when having multiple developers working on one repo db (like we do) it gives us problems. Also we have different versions and it would be easier with file based repo then database Also when making a new release we can do merge of the changes (from TFS), now it is not possible.

adkinsl said I heard that 10.3 is pushed to Q2 2018 so in anticipation of migrating customers that are buying new workstations......can you please provide the correct MS Visual C++ 2015 redistributable package (vcredist_x86.exe) so I can get it included on a pc image so I'm ready to roll soon after migration from U9.6/9.7/10.2? A link to the actual download on Microsoft's website is preferred, but a version # that I can look up will do as well. TIA, Larry
Hi Larry, We are using Visual Studio 2015 with update three as our new environment for developing Uniface. You can download the updated distributable packages from the following location: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53587

Something else we are desperately waiting for is a file based repository. We know there is the March Hare UD6 driver, but we don't really see the point of using a 3th party integration tool when native support for a file based repository is on it's way. Any news on the plan date for it ? Glad to see progress in the menu additional
Without it we are not able to use Uniface 10 since we use the menu Additional for Source Control integration.

Unlikely. The decision has been taken that Uniface 10.3 will have the TLS driver in it's entirety (Client Server and Web), and will be built with the MS VS 2015 compiler and distribution. This is different to what we originally planned and communicated, so we think it will be Q2. The up side, is that while this work is completed, we continue to add functionality to Uniface 10.3. At the moment, the additional menu functionality is being completed.

We don't have a firm date at this time, as we've going through a replanning exercise to. The goal is to get it delivered in 2016.
The next update for the Web Edition (10.1) is in the second from last sprint, that has some nice features including the first phase of the version control. That should be available in January.
We're also planning to have an online update (I'm hoping sometime in January) to go over what's new and to specifically talk about the version control as we had quite a few discussions on in at recent Developer Conferences. Hoping to get a date set for that next week.

Hi Adrian, you mentioned for the next 10.1 update: "That should be available in January." as the U10 license expires Jan 4th: will we "Early Asopters" get automatically another extended license so we can continue experimenting over the "holidays" ? Greetings from Frankfurt/Germany, Uli Merkel
