I can see that the appropriate tags are attached to this question. So, I guess you've put your question in the right place. I, however, still try to get use to the new forum. It probably will take a while until I find my way around again.

Regarding the described problem: I cannot (seem to) replicate it here.

I've used the default usys.ini for my test. It could be that you are using different font settings in your environment. In case the size of FONT0 and the font of (e.g.) the Edit Box is not "ideal" then it can happen that Windows does not show the cursor. This is the case when the cursor is bigger then the available vertical space in the Edit Box. I think this is "normal" Windows behavior. Sorry.

So, you should be able to resolve the problem by either decreasing the font size of the Edit Box or increasing the size of FONT0. Or another alternative is to use the default usys.ini that was created during the installation.

Hope this helps.

Daniel

Hello Daniel,

the only Thing i changed was :

; Logical fonts used by Development environment

EditFont=Arial,Western,8,regular

;EditFont=Arial Unicode MS,Western,8,regular

With "EditFont=Arial,Western,8,regular" it's ok.

But if all fields in "Global Actions" have the same Definition, why do 24 fields act normal and only 4 fields different?

It should make no difference if a draw a field in the upper left Corner in the form or in the lower Right Corner. The field has to react in both positions the same way.

Thanks Norbert.

I still could not see a problem when I change the EditFont to "Arial Unicode MS,Western,8,regular". Only after increasing the size to (e.g.) 12 I noticed the missing cursor.

I've checked the "Global Actions" form and it seems that the mentioned fields are defined as multiline and the other fields are single line. I'm not sure why the 4 fields are multiline. Maybe there was a specific reason to change this in the past or this just was an oversight. I know that Windows is displaying the cursor differently depending on if a Edit Box control is single or multiline.

I, however, don't think that we are going to change this, considering that Uniface 9.7 is now in maintenance mode. Would this issue also be discovered in the Uniface 10 IDE then then the lab would certainly look into this. Sorry, but that is the "harsh" reality.

Hope this helps.

Daniel
