OWI open widget interface

hello !

I would like to know more about how to implement the Uniface OWI open widget interface.  it seems that this feature which is mentioned in the uniface 9.4 help does exist but nobody knows how to use it (and I am obviously not the only one facing this problem).

Asking the uniface technical support, the answer was:

I'm afraid that all examples or documentation we have regarding the OWI interface is completely outdated (the information is from version 6 and 7). We are planning (but this has not been confirmed or committed yet) to release updated samples for the OWI interface with version 9.5, which is scheduled for September/October this year. It might be an idea to ask other Uniface developers on (e.g.) the Uniface Community site www.uniface.info, if they have any old samples that they successfully migrated to newer Uniface releases (e.g. version 9.4).

Thus let me follow this advice...
Does anybody have a working example of a self-made component with the OWI ?  or could at least somebody provide me the old examples which seem to have been part of a former uniface distribution (even if they do not work immediatly) ?

since it was available once, and some experts seem to have implemented widgets with it (which still run in U9), there should be somehow an access to the older uniface samples and documentation. I would be happy with it, even if it is not up to date

anybody could help me with any useful information ?

... and even in 9.4.01 you find under 3GL the owi.h etc. files

perhaps this could give you an impression what the API looks like (at least the interface).

Hi gerd,

good to hear that this old spample is helpful, think CPWR delivered it as 3GL/samples up to version 7.2.06.

If I remember it well, there was a widget coockbook with uniface six (1994) hardcopy for sure.,
it was not part of the standard documentation you got with a uniface license, you had to buy it seperately.
