Uniface 9 and Windows 10

I am installing a new Windows 10 PC 64bit. I need to check: - Uniface 9.2.3.O314            (client only) - Uniface 9.6 + MX07 = 9.6.08        (client & server) - Uniface 9.7 + G102 = 9.7.01.G102    (client & server) On this platform I was supposing Uniface 32bit should work as a Windows On Windows application (SYSWOW = 32bit application in a 64bit environment). Only 64bit on 64bit and 32bit on 32bit? - Is VisualC++ redistributable V8.x required from Uniface and is not installed from Uniface installation? On my PC VC90-x86 and VC100-x86 are already installed by default on the system. Should I manually install VC80? I'll continue tomorrow playing with compatibility levels with U9.6 and starting from scratch with U9.7 but if anyone can help to clarify what I've reported is welcome! :-) Ciao, Gianni

Hello Gianni, The Uniface Setup (e.g. for version 9.6 or 9.7) will normally install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package automatically. Please note that this package is required on each individual system where you would like to run Uniface. In case you run Uniface from a network share then it might be necessary to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package manually (on each system). The package is available in the \\uniface_setup\\vcredist sub-directory of the edist. I've heard from particular cases where the Redistributable Package was not installed correctly. I believe that in some cases there could be a permission problem when running the vcredist installer. It might help when running the Uniface Setup explicitly as Administrator (Run as Administrator option). As for Uniface 9.2: this release is not supported anymore since quite some time (for details see The Uniface Support Lifecycle) and has never been verified or approved for Windows 10. Hi Daniel, I know Uniface 9.2 is not supported anymore but I was asked as minimum to try to install it in the new Windows 10 64bit environment. Installing Microsoft VisualC++ 2005 Redistributable Package before installing Uniface and then installing Uniface using "Run as Administrator" option has solved all problems found before.
