While working with Rocket COBOL (Micro Focus COBOL) , I encountered the following error:

87 Micro Focus COBOL Community Edition usage period has expired

I would like to understand why this issue occurs and what can be done to prevent it. Does this message indicate that the license has expired? If so, is there a way to extend it?

I am using this tool with Visual Studio Code. Could this be related to a specific configuration or a plugin setting?

Thank you for any insights and help!

Hello,

I am not aware of any license restrictions for this product.
How long have you been using the extension?

The Community Edition is installed into c:\\CommunityEdition and is installed automatically if The Learn COBOL extension does not find a fully licensed product of Visual COBOL installed on the system.

You might try uninstalling the Learn COBOL extension and the Rocket COBOL extension and then reinstalling them to get the latest version.

Make sure that after uninstalling these that the C:\\CommunityEdition folder is gone prior to reinstalling Learn COBOL and Learn COBOL will install the Community Edition once you try to work with a COBOL program with VSCode.
