I have Visual Cobol Personal Edition
I had an Internet outage on my Win/8 laptop and could not open Project1 (I am trying to 'get started' with this product)
Once the connection was made true again, I could open Project1
Why is that?

Hello Paul,
Which COBOL template did you create your project with? And did you create the project on your local drive?

Hi, and thanks for your contact
I do not recall using a COBOL template to create Project1
I think it was the supplied Project for a demo?
It resides in C:\\Users\\Paul\\Documents\\Visual Studio 2012\\Projects\\Project1\\Project1

Mystery explained. I had not yet activated the product on that laptop. When I went to progress through to loading source code, there was a window that popped up behind the one I was in. When I found that I was able to complete activation and then was taken to a 'skeleton' source code example/sample. It has nothing to do with being connected to the 'net or not.
Now that I am moving along, I find I can dbl-clk source code and Visual COBOL starts up and I am able to edit.
Thanks again for helping me think about this.
