Good morning,

I wonder if it's possible to change the default Builder that appears for a Cobol Remote Project in VisualCobol Eclipse 2.1, and as it should be

The idea would be to set up the project so that when you perform a Build, will run a script located on the remote server for each of the programs that were part of the project.

Currently we can accomplish this task by setting the following code in the Events tab; but the idea would be to set up the environment to not perform the default Buider, and only execute this code lines ... We also want to see the output produced by each of the lines in the script in the console tab.

Thank you

I am wondering if you can give us a little more insight as to exactly what the task is that you are trying to accomplish with this feature.

Is there some preprocessing of the source code that you are doing for database handling, etc?

If we can understand the need perhaps we can provide a solution for you.

Thanks.

I spoke with development and it appears as although we have done some work in this area, looking at different types of build scripts, etc., there is nothing in the current product version to aid you with this type of replacement of project builders.

In Eclipse, there are options to switch off the default builder and to define something else (see Project Properties/Build), but as always the difficult part is getting all the relevant messages back for the error markers.

Thanks.
