What's the latest plugin for use with RDi 9.8.0.6 and Aldon 10.4?  I'm running 8.2.800.  Also, how do I update? Thanks

I've been working with the RDi plug-in for a few months now and find it quite useful ... that said, I do have a few recommendations for improvements. Move (or copy) the create object / compile option from the Team submenu, when you right click on an item in the RSE tree, to the top level.  Strictly speaking, compile isn't a change control function and it's probably the most frequently used. Add an option to the popup menu to set the RDi connection jobs library list to the library list that would be used to compile the member.  This will allow the outline view to find copy members.  I currently have a command defined in RSE that runs ACMSLIBL to set the library list, but I have to define multiple commands and run the one that is appropriate for the program I'm working on. Avoid running operations on the Eclipse UI thread, as it causes RDi to lock up (even if only briefly).  Spawn new threads or use the Eclipses job functionality.  This applies to opening source members & saving dir

Folks: I'm working on a program that's checked out to another developer. I can edit the program without a problem, but the compile option is disabled. I can submit a compile from the green screen. I have the program checked out to another developer because I'm using objects & copy members that they are working on. Any way I can get the compile option enabled in the plug-in? Thanks! david

Hi! Is there a simple way to move objects from one application to another? I have not found anything inside devops, but maybe the is an external command? (I hope :o) ../Åke Nordahl

In RDi, I have LM(i) filters by user, object, and task#.  In VS Code, all I've managed to find is a list of every task# since the beginning of time.  How do I set up LM(i) filters in VS Code like I have in RDi? Thanks

Folks: I'm a newbie to vscode (and Aldon for that matter). I've got vs code 1.103.0 installed with the rocket devops extension version 10.5.0. If I insert a deliberate error in my code, and use the 'create' option on the member in my subset, no errors are shown. The output log shows this ... CPC1221:  Job 177398/DAVIDG8/ACMSCREATE submitted to job queue ESSBASE in library JOBQLIB. CMS9911:  Program ACMSCREATE completed successfully.  The highest CMSnnnn message severity received was 0. I'm trying to install a plug-in for Aldon in RDi 9.8 and Aldon Version 8.6.  Is there one that works with both?  We had the plug-in working on RDi 9.6.  I've tried RocketAldonEclipsePlugin8.2.801.zip, Rocket DevOps Eclipse plug-in 10.3.0.zip, Rocket DevOps Eclipse plug-in 10.4.0.zip and Rocket DevOps Eclipse plug-in 10.5.0.zip.When I try to install the ones available I get the following  errors. What happens when doing a rollback of a dist. set from production if the set was never deployed?

I am running RDI Version 9.8.0.4 (20250303_1557) and we have Rel 10.2        Rocket DevOps core for IBM i running on V7R5M0 with TR level: 5 and I am hoping there is a plugin to RDI so I can use the 5250 emulators less for code Promotion and deployments....etc.

Hello all My customer's IT Audit team notices that user profiles ICLUSTER and DMCLUSTER have all special authority (*ALLOBJ , *AUDIT, *IOSYSCFG, *JOBCTL, *SAVSYS, *SECADM, *SERVICE, *SPLCTL)  and asks me if all these are REALLY needed?    From my less-than-a-year experience with iCluster, I'm fairly certain that *SAVSYS, *IOSYSCFG, *SERVICE, *SECADM are not needed but am ready to  be told I'm wrong.    May I ask which special authorities are essentially for these 2 user profiles to work without any hiccup as I need to adjust them for a bare minimum that IT Audit team asks for?         Thanks. ------------------------------Satid SingkorapoomIBM i SMERocket Forum Shared Account------------------------------

Rocket iCluster will stop working properly on IBM i V7R4 and V7R5 when IBM PTF SJ03017 is installed.   Background: The parameters of the QUSLOBJ API have been changed in PTF SJ03017 which causes the iCluster command DMMRKPOS to fail. Posting some comments from a customer in hopes of starting a conversation.VS Code has been available now for some time and there are some powerful Extensions (plugins) that have become popular for development on IBMi.One of the popular Extension we're using internally is 'Code for IBM i'.  While reviewing current conversations (e.g. Ryver, other Open Source for I resources...) we've seen some users exploring this as an alternative to Rational / RDi and use of Plugins for Eclipse (currently supported for both LMe and LMi).I've used the Code for i Extension locally for some dev work while using its emulator for direct LMi actions (Checkout, Create, Checkin, Task association - 5250j required on the i). Our auditors needed to verify the retired object were not in any production libraries.  There may be a better way to do this, but this was my approach. I found the data I needed for the list in ACMSCTL.PRTINS. I tried using QSYS2.OBJECT_STATISTICS, but that took too long since I had to use *ALL as the library. I nosed around for the best command line option and settled on DSPOBJD.   With QSYS2.QCMDEXC, I was easily able to build the DSPOBJD command from the SQL.   This approach works fine for the system where PRTINS resides. For the production system, I needed to take the list from the first SQL and load that as the list of objects for the second SQL. Either way, I can query the same work file to get a list for the auditors.  Once I have the list of all libraries for all objects, I could use QSYS2.OBJECT_STATISTICS at this point to document last use date, source date and any other values as needed for audit purposes.    Clear the work file.   drop table if exists MYLIB.DSPOBJD; Load th

Hello, I have been setting up RDOi for Eclipse/RDi. I am using the plugin version 8.2.800 and RDi is on 9.8. For Rocket DevOps Core for IBM i, we are on version 10.2 (no PTFs) .Despite 8.2.8 not being listed as compatible with RDi 9.8, everything appears to be working correctly. Here's what happens currently to promote from DEV to ITG via greenscreen: stracms opt 2 "Work with objects by developer" opt 7 on program to promote to ITG Enter.. then "Specify Promote Options" has Deploy from ITG as Y Define Deployment Set, ect . . .  Now, when I do the same thing via RDi: Right click object in DEV -> Check In, add comment, Select create dependent objects in environment . . .  Hit OK, then RDOi will move that object to ITG and build it into that environment. My question is: Can I define a deployment set via the RDi method the same way I can via greenscreen? Is that something in a newer release of RDOi for RDi that I'm missing out on until we update from 10.2?Another thing to mention, w
