Which is the maximum length accepted for a logical font name? I've looked into documentation with no success...so I made some test. In this global proc, I want to callback the instance GP_DO_INIT   ;a) do it by handle   $instancehandle->"CB_ME"()   ;   ;b) do it by activate   activate $instancename."CB_ME"() END a) is doing what I want BUT b) I got an error -58  "Component not found" Further investigation reveald that $instancename is valid but the instance is at this point not in the instance pool. Html2pdfAuthor: roger.wallin@abilita.fi (rogerw) Hi,  Does anyone have a way to convert an Uniface-string containing html to a Uniface-string containing a pdf-file (raw or base64) without writing to a temporary html-file and pdf-file? Writing to temporary files I can use eg. spawn "#wkhtmltopdf.exe %%htmlFile%%% %%pdfFile%%%" Then I can use fileload/raw to get the pdf into an variable.  But in this case, due to security restrictions, it would be better not writing any temporary files, although they can be deleted afterwards.   There is a wkhtmltopdf C-library that probably contains the needed functions, but I'll see if I find some easier way before starting to compile something containing the wkhtmltopdf library. There is quite a long time since I made som C-routines/C++routines for Uniface..... The goal is to send the pdf-file (string), base64 coded, into a web-service.  Regards RogerW.

Compile objects from command line interfaceAuthor: p.lovati@pokerspa.it (PaoloLovati) Hi, compiling objects from command line interface using "/aft=DateTime" sub-switch doesn't work with the following switches: /gly /sig all objects are always compiled. Using the switch "/all" has the same effect on objects of type Glyph and Signature. I tried using the parameter "DateTime" both with and without separators. The Uniface environment is [MSW] 9.7.04.02, G404 and uses a standardized directory structure Maybe I'm missing something... Thanks Paolo

Sometimes we get 2 fields, sometimes 10. There is no notation in the JSON as to which table / entity to use - it only contains the field names - which coincidentally doesn't match to any of our entity fields. Upon receiving this in Uniface, $webinfo("INPUT") is empty. Ok, thought of switching to a DSP - nah, webload needs to have the JSON structure built in the component - ain't gonna happen. My understanding (and testing using $webinfo("DATA") - nothing happens. In finishing, if the request is sent as a content-type:text/plain, I do get text/plain="{"field1":1, "field2":"yes".........}" via $webinfo("INPUT") and can do a jsontostruct and manipulate the json that way So, do I

So to export of "things" (e.g. nightly) out of the repostitory into some XML-Files I will write some batch files to start UNIFACE.EXE with "/cpy" . But, as we all know, a component does not only is located in UFORM but in a few more tables. So I have to export at least four time to got the whole component (UFORM,UXGROUP,UXFIELD,UXREGS) UnifAce proc-code on the other side will provide us with $UDE("export","component",...) So, why not have this capabilities with the command line /ude export component <name> And of cource: /ude import compoent <xml-files> Which will first delete/cleanup any old component (with the name of that your are about to import) Ingo

I am developing a custom solution to adapt our uniface application to multiple screen resolutions. My aproach is use the ATTACH property dinamically via Global Proc to automatize the process when it is posibble. It is working "fine" but i have an issue with multi-ocurrence entitites (not grids). As i need to apply $fieldproperties dinamically for each occurence, the fields "move" or "resize" but the scrollbar stays on the initial position...   Example: Initial design:     After $fieldproperties:     Is it a way to solve this? Our uniface application do not respond when a net connection problem occurs that affect the access to de DOL file. Thats fine, but when network connection comes back, the problem persists. If this happens outside a READ-trigger: No useable values (as the are already the fetched one ),  but no crash If you want to do this in READ-trigger before the READ: Stack overflow->Crash So how to implement - for debugging purpose - a simple output of the profile that a user typed in? $ioprint will also give you some hints, but not end-user friendly and no chance for further processing @UnifAce   a) where is the promise whishlist?   b) how to get the current profile? If so, how did you go about it?  example:     Drop down box has values 1, 2, 3. User is in occurrence one of a multiple occurrence entity. User selects 3.     The users are used to being able to double click on other fields and having the values in those fields be copied to the rest of the occurrences in the entity.      So, we would like to have something similar happen with a drop down box. If this is required, define the entity as stored in a database, but remove the write statement from the Write or Write Up triggers for the entity. This should be done in the application model. This ensures that an entity does not get stored in the database, and has the same effect as defining the entity as non-database.   But if do this, i must specify a dmbs path. Our RDBMS is oracle. When a retrieve/o is performed i get a:  ORA-00942: Table or view does not exist.   Any idea about how a retrieve/o works over the occurrences of a dummy entity?   Greetings,   Sergio

XML Specs AFAIK are considering vectors be used in two possible modes: wrapped or bare. Importing the provided WSDL Uniface has defined these parameters as string leaving all options open; I am currently supposing the wrapped mode should be used. Now my point: The Uapplication running has in memory these two nice uniface lists (parts & codes). How these parameters string should be composed programmatically? I/We tried already: - to pass directly the uniface lists, supposing the SOAP driver being able to manage them - to compose them using word "string" as tag including in it each value (<fieldName><string>value1</string><string>value2</string></fieldName>) nothing works. [SOLVED] Multiple Occurrences with HTML-Widget insideAuthor: lorenzen@ahp-gmbh.de (lorenzen) Hallo there, we use the HTML-Widget to load generated html-content. This HTML-content has to use some Extended-Trigger functions, so we have to use $fieldhandle(HTML)->$widgetoperation("loadHTML",lv_htm) to show the content. And here comes is a problem. If there are more than one Occurrence in an Entity, that contains an HTML-Widget, Content dosen't updated, by change the selected occurrence. Change to "UseFieldValue=T" is not posible. I also tried with a "show" on "Occurrence get Focus - Trigger". No changes. We use UnifAce 9.7.03 to Test. Regards Lars Lorenzen
