Uniface®

We are using the url encoding algorithm to encode a uniface list to be passed as a command line parameter on starting another uniface session.  This appears to occasionally truncate. The spawn command in use says it can take 8K as a command line, and it's definitely not that big.  Is there some other limit I'm missing? Sizes of the parameters on the uniface command line? Hello, With UNIFACE 10.3..02.54 on Windows , I try to list all files/folder containt in a folder in a zip file with $ldirlist, But if the folder name containt a dot, $ldirlist return always empty. [ex:  $ldirlist("D:\\TEMP\\GHO.zip:test.js","DIR") ] . The foder have the "D" attributes and it's recognize like a folder by Windows and 7zip. Someone have the same problem with a more recent version of UNIFACE ? Thanks. I appreciate that with DSPs the answer is just to paint the image widget, however, this is for integration with a java(script) based graphics/graphing utility via JSON data output by a USP, so I can't do that.  I have bitmap data loaded into the database using lfileload/raw, I am trying to convert this to a tag to display an image in HTML <img src='data:image/bmp;base64, DATAGOESHERE'> I have tried variables raw v_raw string v_string endvariables v_raw=$encode("URAW", fieldname) v_raw=$encode("BASE64", v_raw) v_string = $encode("USTRING", v_raw) and then replacing DATAGOESHERE with v_string, this doesn't work (I've also tried it outputting a basic HTML file, so I know it's not anything further up the line which is at fault).  I originally tried without the URAW encode, doesn't appear to make any difference.  The data unloads to a bmp file using filedump/raw okay, so I am going to proceed with a (IMNSHO) 'bad' option of dumping the file into a folder in weba

by Jonke Korzelius With patch 10.4.02.028, we have reintroduced and enhanced the ability to Insert multiple Fields, in one go, onto Forms and Reports to give you a quick start to designing your layout. For those who remember, the Uniface 9 development tool had a feature known as ‘Load Fields’ where you could Load Fields into an empty Entity; with version 10, you can add Fields to an Entity with items already painted (other Fields or child Entities). If there is not enough room for the Fields you are trying to Insert, the Uniface 10 IDE will not change your existing layout and cancels the action, so you need to make sure there is enough free space available for your Insert. You can do that by adding fewer fields, moving existing ones elsewhere, choosing a different layout, or enlarging the target entity. We implemented this feature following the IDE’s design principle, where you select what you want to Insert in your Resource Browser and then pick an action. The Resource Browser in Form

Hi, I am trying to connect to a webservice using UHTTP.SEND for GET operation but the url which am requesting  gives me the error HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request through uniface 10.3 but this also returns response headers with no content. But when I try to test the same URL it works fine with the Postman tool and also through CURL and it gives 200 response and provides the result as well. Hi,Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this but thought I'd give it a bash. We have an application written in Uniface that we run via Citrix from 3 load balanced servers.The users change the session settings such as the format of the GUI screens and in the previous version were able to make those persist by clicking the following....In the new application this is not saving the users preferences and we are not able to find where the issue is.Anyone know where this would try and save the user preferences to? Local machine? Hi. A very strange problem.  We are getting an error of ORA-03114 not connected to oracle after commit, while read and write passed without any error. Even more interesting - the commit did succeeded! The change is well shown on another sesiion... So I thought the problem is with the ORA driver. the system runs Uniface 9705 on Windows 2019 server with Oracle 12c. By Etienne Thijsse  We have recently made some modifications to the way license-related messages are delivered to your Uniface application.  If your support eligibility is approaching the end or has ended, we’ve modified how this message is delivered to your application. Because this end date is normally not a concern for the end users of your application, by default, Uniface will no longer send any message about this end date; however, you can use the LM_MAINTENANCE_NOTIFICATION option in the $license_options setting of the assignment file to override this behavior. For example:  [settings] ; Notify me 14 days before the end of maintenance date. ; Then we can renew our maintenance contract in time: $license_settings = LM_MAINTENANCE_NOTIFICATION=14  Also, using the $ioprint 64 assignment file setting or the /pri=64 command-line flag, you can write the actual end date to the log file. This ensures users who are interested in this information will still get notified. 

Hi Unifacer, I am in the process to define a renewed Standard&Guidelines, following current terminology a "framework", to be used to develop a Uniface 3tiers web application:- the front-end must be Uniface DSP/USP based- services and reports will be Uniface reused from application(s) currently in production Possible inclusion of third part external frontEnd/services/reports as:- External complete app integration- StoredProcs from (R)DBMS- Services completely developed in other languages- External reporting tools integration- ...are welcome but they should be integrated into an ALL Uniface environment. The big question is: today which set of Javascript libraries to be integrated with Uniface and why ? I know the question has no simple answer, expecially the WHY part, probably requiring a book with hundreds of pages but I will appreciate any answer or tips will be posted here. Thanks! Trying to call a REST service from within Uniface code.  Using the following code.  putitem/id v_headers,"X-PCI-Token",<token> putitem/id v_headers,"content-type","application/json" v_data = $newstruct .... some code to build the struct correctly....... structtojson/whitespace v_content, v_data $api$->set_flags(15) v_status = $api$->SEND($uri$, "POST", "", "", v_Headers, v_Content, v_Response) v_headers, v_contact and v_response are all strings.  I have checked v_content just before the send operation, and it contains correctly formatted JSON. Pasting this JSON into SoapUI activates the far end correctly.  However, logging on the far end shows blank content when send from uniface.  Is there any way I can catch/log the output of UHTTP to get the raw data sent to the far end? They were used when upgrading from 9.7 to 10.3 so I wouldn't think they would continue to be needed since the repository has already been migrated to version 10. We are writing a REST call in web service for a 3rd party to access some data.  I am using $webinfo("status") to return 201 or 204 for successes and 400 for failures. The 3rd party is complaining that:- The status is showing twice in the response line.  There is no indication of a reason for failure.  I have tried using $webinfo("statusreason") to both change the duplication and/or return the reasons for failure, but the documentation indicates it's only returned if the status is 200.  Is there any way to fit the USP output to the 3rd party's perceived 'standard' for REST services (i.e. status only once in the response line, followed by the reason for failure in case of a failure?    Regards,  Iain ------------------------------Iain SharpHead of Technical ServicesPci Systems LtdSheffield GB------------------------------
