I know the question has no simple answer, expecially the WHY part, probably requiring a book with hundreds of pages but I will appreciate any answer or tips will be posted here. Thanks! Although keyboard shortcuts are typically used with menus, this article investigates the utilization of keyboard shortcuts in a Uniface Windows application that doesn't have menus. The objective of this new approach is to enable end users or system administrators to modify keyboard shortcuts in the usys.ini file without accessing the application's source code. This functionality was already available for menu accelerators but was absent for Forms that do not have a menu.  Accelerators  Accelerators are keyboard combinations linked to specific menu items. These combinations can be defined in the usys.ini file. When there is more than one database client software version on a given server, how does Uniface know which one to use? Is it solely through the driver version in the assignment file? This implies that a given driver version only applies to one database client version. In our case, we have both Oracle 12cR2 and 19c on the same server. The driver for 12cR2 is U7.2 and for 19c is U7.3. Seems like all I would have to do is change the driver version from U7.2 to U7.3 in order to point to the 19c client version. Hi everyone. I want to use the unifaceTriggers javascript function in a uHTML widget. The idea is to communicate between Uniface and my page. I want to use a tinyMCE control to allow my users to edit html messages. So I use an uHTML widget with "Use extended triggers" and "Enable Javascript" checked. My html (with tinyMCE) is working ok. If I send a function call from UNIFACE to JS, no problem it works $fieldhandle(TRACEHTML)->$widgetoperation("JS:testText", "Test") But not the other way around. Hi, what do you think about adding a column to table in SQL without updating the uniface model? The column will contain data from existing columns in the table (based on sql expression) and will be not used in Uniface components. In SQL it is called computed column. Do you think it is OK to use the new column in table without any connection to Uniface? Are there any risks with this solution? ** Update I think this is being caused by a license issue. I am currently waiting to get that resolved and see if it resolves my issue. 6/16/2023I went through the Hello World tutorial for building a web app but it fails with the bright red screen (I even tried importing it) with the error in the subject and the additional information below. I have read everything I can find to resolve the error. I see in the documentation that everything should be installed and configured to work with 10.4.02.007 but I am a newbie to Uniface. Solution I tried copying idf.aps from uniface/components file from my uniface 9.7 to uniface 10, uniface/components (as this folder itself was missing, and didn't had the .aps file for unifacen10.)Still getting the same error.

 $CUROCC_VIDEO appears to not work all of the time on some fields in some cases... Is this a known issue. Also,  curoccvideo "*","DEF" had the same effect An example case is if its a dropdown and backcolor has been set.... It is consistent for specific fields in specific positions I also have an editbox for the first occurence for the first time it is the current occurence.... Currently in Uniface, I have found a way to use fields with an IDENTITY declaration in SQL Server. However, it is not functioning correctly due to the loss of data modeling. I am unable to set an ID as the primary key, so I have to maneuver in order to make both a query and a store work within the same service. The way I am using an IDENTITY is as I mentioned before, by setting another field as the primary key and leaving the fieldlist of the entity in the service empty or without the field that has the IDENTITY, in this case, the ID field. The issue with this, aside from the data modeling problem, is that when I perform a RETRIEVE, the ID field is not returned if I use a putlistitems, for example. I have to manually call it to include it in my list. What is the best practice way to delete a uniface entity using a uniface component. There is UCGROUP and UCGROUP_ONE(subtype) both related to UCRELSH To do it correctly, in one remocc,  I see the need to create a subtype UCRELSH_ONE in DICT. The alternative is to do 2 remocc's... With options in Uniface version 10.4.02 for a 32-bit or 64-bit IDE installation, what considerations/dependencies are to be considered in making this decision? Hello everybody,   I have to build a new form with a painted html widget for to replace an older form. This form offers some user actions, which can be started with userkey combinations.   I know that I can bring uniface to handle the key combinations rather than the html widget: sProperties = $properties(HTML1)     putitem/id sProperties, "UnifaceKeys", "ctrl+2ctrl+4ctrl+6ctrl+7ctrl+8ctrl+9"     $properties(HTML1) = sProperties The "" is <GOLD><SEMICOLON>This works fine so far. But in our legacy application there are 2 special key combinations...  It's both the combination of "ctrl" with the division key and "ctrl" with the multiplication key of the numeric keyboard.   Does anybody of you know how state these key combinations in order to give uniface control  for them with the "UnifaceKeys" property?   Thanks in advance and best regards ------------------------------Michael RöschAbrechnungszentrum Emmendingen------------------------------

Our shop is in the planning stages of upgrading our Uniface software from version 10.3.02 to 10.4.02. In the past, with DLM license software, newer versions of DLM were compatible with older versions of Uniface so we could install and activate the new license and license software first before upgrading Uniface.Can this be done with Sentinel RMS? We have an application that started off life as Uniface 5 and has been migrated multiple times and is now on the heady heights of 10.2.03.1.  We have legacy tables that ultilise overflow tables. Hey all, Given things have settled down and the world is not (at least not yet) disappearing... The Uniface Marketing team seems to have been very quiet - no news about any user meeting(s) in any, way, shape or form. Will there be an inperson  European / NA user group meeting this year?
