The use case of this, is for having multiple dynalic Tabs in a screen. Number of tabs will depend on the content from one retrieve. Is there any way to do this in the Layout ? I need to be able to add multiple files into Uniface from Windows explorer.We have historically used filebox, but the limitation of this is it can only deal with one file at a time, which when you have 20-30 to upload, is a very tedious job.I have read in the Uniface documentation that a (DRAGAND) DROPTARGET can accept files dragged from WIndows Explorer but as I've never used a drag and drop widget before I have no idea how to make this work, or if indeed this is possible. The documentation on drop targets is a bit sparse and doesn't give me any clues on where to start.I did create a dummy field and tried to drag some explorer files over, but it just gives me a 'no entry' type symbol.What do I need to do and what trigger does it fire on the field, as I obviously then need to loop through the results to process the individual files in.Many thanks!------------------------------Toni DavenportUniface Community Edition Shared AccountUS------------------------------

Hi everybody,In Uniface 10.4, I get the size of a column in the ExtendedTrigger COLUMN_RESIZED of my occurrence (cf catch 1) that is activated when I change the width of any column. It's OK.But when I want to assign the width of the same column  (cf catch 2) with the same width, it is drawn 7 time more larger. Hi community,strange enaugh this is the first time in years I have to do a retrieve in Uniface, "not like" equivalentso the goal is to have retrieved data with first character not "I" and not "O" for the same fieldin sql we easily do in this way:select * from table where field not like "I%" and field not like "O%"neither in the read u_where clause or retrieve directly in field, I can make it workfor example if I want to to a like clause I write in the code:field.table = "I·*·|O·*"this is correctly translated by the Uniface SQL driver into like I% or like O%but if I want to do "NOT like", trying this way:field.table = "·!I·*·!O·*"is translated wrongly into not like I* and not like O* ,so translated with the * instead of the % symbol. that occurs the same way if I do this in the u_where clausemy bad (and ugly) workaround is to write this in the u_where clause:read u_where (field.table < "I" | field.table > "Izzzzzzz") & (field.table < "O" | field.table > "Ozzzzzzz")that p

I'm trying to find an easy way of adding a popup menu to every painted field. We have moved form uniface 9 classic deployment to uniface 10 standardised deployment.We used to hold a copy of the USOURCE.DICT table in the users database and build a dol file with no $text messages in, and set the $search_objects = DBMS_FIRST.This would then get the labels for the system from the database rather than the dol file, which allowed our end users to make changes to labels as they wanted to, these would then kick in after they did a /rma /mes to compile the changed message. HAPPY USERS.How do we do the same now we have moved to Uniface 10? I see that the $text messages now exist in a table called UMSG instead of USOURCE. Do we build it the same way? SO have a uar with no $text messages in and keep a database table that the users can edit and then see their changes in the deployed application? Or is this not possible any more?Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello everybody,maybe it's an informix specific question. Unfortunately I don't know (google search was unfortunately not successful )and I'm hoping now somebody of you guys can give me a hint.Our database environment is Informix 14.10 with client SDK 4.1The users have a form for entering search criteria for a database selection. So far so normal.The table to be selected is pretty wide (about 230 columns) and the users are entering a lot of OR-criteria separated by <GOLD><PIPE> into a particular field as a search profile.Debugger shows me a pretty large SQL-Statement of about 12000 characters.Trying to perform a retrieve now results in a "Informix: Driver ERROR (50): Sql command buffer overflow"As I can successfully perform that generated SQL-Statement via informix dbaccess or via Squirrel (jdbc) I'm not sure where my (uniface) problem comes from.What's causing the error? A Uniface limitation itselves, or is it caused by client sdk?What is the maximum sql command buffer siz

I am working on a migration from U9.6 to U10.4  - however, origin of the app is U5.As there are quite some command which are marked as deprecated or, even worse, are no longer supported ("print_break", "field_video"...), I need a complete list of all warnings. We are working for a customer to add the missing indexes to a table in the Uniface model.In the Microsoft SQL Server database, an index contains included columns. Is there any way to run two different javascript/webapps folders in the same way one can have two uar files, one with the whole system and one with a patch? We run a training system next to our live systems, with the next patch implemented, for UAT purposes. I have just released a DSP in which I changed a webtrigger, and therefore the associated script in the webapps/uniface/dspjs folder, and it broke the live system. I am aware I can do it by having an entirely different ini file, and a copy of all the webapps code in another location, but I'd prefer if there were a magic way of including a second path at ASN level, or even (possibly) programmatically.
