IE (Internet Explorer) support and HTML5 and JavaScriptAuthor: adrian.gosbell@synapse-i.jp (Adrian Gosbell) We've had a couple of support issues reported when using Uniface DSPs and behavior oddities with IE.  After analysis, the real issue was due to the implementation of HTML and JavaScript support in IE. In the recent cases, it was specific to IE8 and differences in behavior when comparing functionality of a web app in .NET was is being replaced with a Uniface app.  In cases where we are dealing with specific behavior of specific browsers, we will always take the position of Uniface functionality adhering to normal, standard behavior. We want to avoid implementing workarounds in Uniface to cater for bugs, implementation oddities and so forth in specific browsers, or versions of browsers.

Note: Always use a stepped hit list when working using the grid widget. If the step size is 0, the hit list is completed and all occurrences are loaded into the grid. This can dramatically reduce performance.-When using Oracle for the Uniface IDE and the Uniface Repository, it is recommended that you configure the ORA connector to allow 150 to 250 open cursors. If you use the disable cache option for the Uniface IDE, you can limit the resulting performance decrease by using cursor caching on the server side. Tune the Oracle server by configuring the SESSION_CACHED_CURSORS parameter.
