Patch 10.4.03-037

This release delivers significant improvements across UX layout widgets, component‑level UX widget support in DSP applications, and occurrence‑level property handling within the UX Interface. To learn more details about this new feature, check out this blog by Jyoti Singh, Senior Manager, Engineering.

  • New Features
    • New Layout Widgets - Uniface UX now includes three new layout widgets that streamline the construction of page, component, and entity layouts
    • Component-Level UX Widgets for DSP - This release introduces full support for component‑level UX widgets in Uniface DSP applications, enabling modular, reusable, and highly flexible UI development.
    • Occurrence-Level Property Handling in the UX Interface - The UX Interface entity object definition now includes a new wrapper function, setOccurrenceProperties, which simplifies setting occurrence‑level properties.

Patch 10.4.03-036

  • New Features
    • Logging on Unix is now faster and more efficient. Uniface optimizes $putmess_logfile and $transcript_logfile for multi‑core CPUs using multi‑threaded logging, resulting in improved application responsiveness and overall performance.
    • The label text defined on the modeled field is now exposed as a property for widgets created with the UX Interface, and the standard Uniface UX widgets have been updated to display it. This enhancement improves inheritance behavior and streamlines modernization efforts. The widget’s _label‑text_ property can be used to override the field's label at runtime.
    • Classic DSP widgets will continue to work as before, using a dedicated Label object.

Patch 10.4.03-035

Announcement: UX Enhancements for Component Support

Uniface has introduced major UX enhancements that now provide full support for component-level widgets in Uniface DSP applications, completing the UX interface stack beyond just entities and fields. This upgrade enables developers to build complete, visually rich web applications without needing manual layout design—simply use the new "Generated" Layout Mode, and components handle their own rendering, significantly reducing development time. The update brings a full suite of features, including enhanced IDE palettes and templates, customizable layout templates, expanded component-level API support, new ProcScript functions, and improved code organization. These enhancements transform Uniface into a true low-code environment for creating flexible, modern web apps. Developers are encouraged to consult the documentation and eLearning resources to get started with these powerful new capabilities. Get the full scoop in our latest blog post.

Meet the Team

Els Oirbans – Senior Director, Uniface Sales

What’s your role within Rocket Uniface, and what do you enjoy most about it?

As Senior Director Sales for Rocket Uniface, I have the privilege of working closely with our customers and partners around the world. My role centers on understanding their goals, challenges, and roadmaps—and helping them get the most value out of their Uniface applications. What I enjoy most is the mix of strategic collaboration and day‑to‑day interaction: listening to customers, translating their needs into solutions, and seeing the impact Uniface continues to have in mission‑critical environments. Every conversation brings new insights, and no two days are the same.

What’s one Uniface feature or capability you think customers should know more about?

I believe customers should pay closer attention to the powerful security capabilities built into Uniface. In a world where cyberthreats evolve constantly, Uniface’s architecture provides strong, flexible protection without adding unnecessary complexity. Its security model, covering authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure deployment options, ensures that organizations can modernize confidently while safeguarding critical data and processes.

What’s something fun or unexpected about you outside of work?

Outside of work, I do HYROX and really enjoy it. I’ve been training regularly and I’m currently preparing for a HYROX event in Amsterdam early next year. It’s a challenging mix of endurance and functional fitness, but it keeps me motivated and I genuinely have fun doing it.
