Recently we were notified that our systems team is planning to upgrade to z/OS 3.2.  We are currently on ChangeMan ZMF 8.3.  Due to resources we will not have time to upgrade before they plan on upgrading z/OS in August 2026.  I know 8.3 has not been tested and it is recommended to go to 8.3.1 but I am curious has anyone taken the chance and upgraded z/OS to 3.2 while still on 8.3?  If so, have you encountered any issues?

Hi,

You clearly already know this, but for the benefit of other readers viewing this conversation, general ChangeMan ZMF-z/OS 3.2 compatibility information can be found on the following article (users will need to be logged into the RCC website to access this link):

https://my.rocketsoftware.com/RocketCommunity/s/article/z-OS-3-2-Compatibility-with-CMN-ZMF-CMN-ZMF-CP-CMN-SSM-CPX-STR-FDM-and-STR-IOO

So, yes, we highly recommend moving to the latest GA version of ZMF (8.3 Patch 2 at time of writing) before upgrading to z/OS 3.2 if you are not already running a minimum of ZMF 8.3 Patch 1.

It is also worth noting that it is possible that customers running outside of supported configurations may be asked to reproduce any issues they encounter in a fully supported configuration before assistance can be provided by the ChangeMan ZMF Product Team.

However, if any customers are able to share their experience of running ChangeMan ZMF 8.3(.0) GA on z/OS 3.2 then they are welcome to do so here.

Best regards,

Steve
