Announcing the latest update for ChangeMan ZMF 8.3 Patch Update 2 (8.3.2)
Rocket Software is pleased to announce a new release of ChangeMan ZMF, delivering a significant set of enhancements focused on modernization, resilience, usability, and deeper lifecycle automation. This release contains more than 50 enhancements, including over 20 driven directly by customer-submitted ideas through our Ideas portal.
Below are some of the key highlight themes from this release:
Enhanced Change Package Visibility & Controls
This release introduces several improvements that streamline Change Package management and strengthen lifecycle governance. Enhancements include clearer visibility into unavailable package actions, additional requestor information across list/query/approve workflows, and expanded metadata passed to exits to support automation, auditing, and integration processes.
Db2 Development Improvements
We’ve delivered several targeted updates that make Db2 change management smoother and more reliable. This includes support for automated BIND COPY operations, enhancements to inter‑object dependency handling, and improved error reporting for Db2 subsystem access during startup. These updates help simplify database‑related processing and increase predictability across Db2 operations.
ERO (Enterprise Release Option) Enhancements
ERO capabilities have been strengthened with improvements that ensure data integrity, enforce more consistent promotion behavior, and correct several usability issues. This includes validation of ERO-related Db2 tables before allowing release workflows to proceed, refined package promotion rules, corrections to release archive processing, and improved panel scrolling behavior for component operations.
Improved XML and Web Services Support
Several updates improve the reliability and correctness of XML-based operations and REST services. Changes include corrections to XML service message handling, improvements to Sernet configuration used by XML/TCPIP processing, and enhanced validation around REST server administration settings.
Sernet Performance & Reliability Enhancements
We’ve introduced new Sernet options that improve performance and reduce storage-related abends during periods of heavy activity. Additional updates include tunable TCP keepalive behavior, customizable resource naming for CONNECTCHECK processing, improved hybrid-mode XML data retrieval, and corrections to ensure component master data is extracted properly.
