Hi,
I have this error on unix:

$> /mnt/sigeng/swlocal/microfocus/cobol/bin/cobrun IBBMSC3.gnt
cobrun32: cannot stat: /swlocal/microfocus/cobol/etc/cobver

the file /swlocal/microfocus/cobol/etc/cobver exist :

$> cat /swlocal/microfocus/cobol/etc/cobver
 cobol v2.3.1 PRN=K1CRH/AAK:Ao.U4.13.04
 PTI=32/64 bit
 PTI=Micro Focus Enterprise Server 2.3 - Update 1 - Hot Fix 01
 PTI=Update 1
 PTI=Hot Fix 01
 PTI=pkg_126544
 PTI=MFInstaller
 PTI=ES
 PTI=SOA Configured

  What can I check ?

I have traced the cmd with ltrace and strace command, please see file.

Hello mf_galberico,

A few questions for you:

1. What are the permissions on your file  /swlocal/microfocus/cobol/etc/cobver, as revealed by using "ls -l"?

2. Do you have any special security in place?

3. Anything unusual about the location where the product is installed?

4. Is the execution running with any special permissions?

5. If you (as an experiment) try running the same program as root, do you get the same error?
