I'm encountering issues with an Intel server running RocketSoftware Version 5.6. The system experiences performance slowdowns during high workloads, causing tasks to lag and reducing overall efficiency.

Here's the setup:

  • Server: Intel server with high-performance processors and sufficient memory.

  • Software: RocketSoftware Version 5.6.

  • Issue: Delays in task execution, occasional lags, and performance drops during peak usage.

Steps taken so far:

  1. Adjusted server resource allocation to prioritize RocketSoftware processes.

  2. Monitored logs to identify bottlenecks but found no clear cause.

  3. Applied all the latest updates and patches for both the Intel server and RocketSoftware Version 5.6.

Despite these efforts, the performance issues persist, especially during periods of high traffic, impacting user experience and system reliability.

Hi Olivia,

I assume with 5.6 that this is UniData?  My experience is with UniVerse on our client sites, but it was similar.  Basically lags were being caused by real-time scanning by things like Maleware Bytes and Windows indexing, and sometimes by ill-timed backups.  Clients went to scheduled scans/indexing (or turned off indexing) and more carefully scheduled backups.  Each time it was like night and day.
