Relatively new to Accuterm but have an issue I've inherited from the last programmer....when using the 'required' option for data fields, attempting to close the screen with the top right screen 'X' returns the message that the field is required. The documentation says the code should hit the validate and deactivate after the 'close' call but it doesn't seem to....as my debugs are not executing.
I don't want to have to manually check / set required fields for every click - but I do need to allow the user to exit with the 'X' (CLose) feature without the error message.
Anyone know what I might be doing wrong here? How do I keep the 'required' error from displaying when the top right X is clicked, while keeping that field required for all other clicks?
Thanks!

I suspect that the inbuilt validations (datatype and required) are handled entirely by the AccuTerm GUI runtime. Further, those validations will need to be satisfied BEFORE the GUI runtime passes any events back to the server. In short, that means that you can't bypass that requirement (because any actions you can take rely on an event being fired).
You could try setting a default value for any "required" fields. That would mean that the runtime will be satisfied that the control has a value, and will fire the form close event as expected.
Cheers,
Brian

This appears to be a bug. If the event handler for Close hides or deletes the form containing the object that is "required", the error message should not be displayed, since the object to which it applies no longer exists (or is hidden). We will get a ticket submitted to correct this.
Thanks, Pete
