Hi,  am now using Accuterm well but am stumped by the the resulting functionality of the  Combo Box.

Lets say the combo Box is waiting for a request and the user enters a Name (as requested)   BAXTER  I then search the Customers file and find 21.

When I have created a list and loaded it, how do I make the list shown on the screen so that the user knows that their search request has a result.

I realise that the user could simply press the "down arrow" but I would prefer to show them the first 8 items to indicate that the selection is ready for picking

I hope this makes sense.

Blessings

For 'Search & display' functionality, I would use an edit box for the data entry, and a grid (or listbox) to display the results. Maybe the results could be in a pop-up window.

I would not have thought of using a combo box in the way that you have described.

Cheers,

Brian

Hi Brian,

Thanks for that, I have just moved away from the data box plus list to the Combo as I thought that that was its purpose. Works well and low code, just a click and validate.

Ill try the data box and Grid idea, similar to you training, Thank You

Kind regards

Hi Chris -

The sample program 'OE' in the AccuTerm account uses the approach suggested by Brian. A normal Edit box for the search string, and a popup window to show the results. Search form is shown when Search button on main form is clicked, or in response to the search box Validate event.

Thanks, Pete
