Rocket Software is excited to announce the simultaneous release of DBTools 4.6.1 and U2 Common Clients 5.4.2, delivering a robust set of enhancements designed to elevate development, administration, and security across the UniData and UniVerse (U2) ecosystem.

DBTools 4.6.1 Highlights

  • Windows Server 2025 Certification
    DBTools 4.6.1 is now certified for use with Windows Server 2025, ensuring seamless integration with the latest enterprise environments.
  • Updated Eclipse Platform
    The suite now runs on Eclipse 2025_06 (Platform Version: 4.36.0.v20250528-2229), offering improved stability and performance.
  • Advanced Security Configuration
    New parameters are available for enhanced OpenSSL control:
    • SSL_SECURITY_LEVEL for setting OpenSSL security levels
    • USE_LEGACY_OPENSSL_ALGORITHM for legacy algorithm support.
      These are compatible with UniData 8.3.1+ and UniVerse 11.4.1+.
  • Improved XAdmin Configuration Support
    Parameters such as AUDIT_STARTUP_TIMEOUT, MAX_REP_GROUPS, and SELECTINDEX_RTN_STATUS can now be configured accurately within XAdmin.
  • Recoverable File System (RFS) Enhancements
    RFS has been updated for UniVerse 14.2.1, offering more robust file protection and management capabilities.
  • SHA3 Algorithm Support
    SHA3 is now supported for certificate signing when connecting via XAdmin to UniData 8.3.1+ and UniVerse 11.4.1+.

U2 Common Clients 5.4.2 Highlights

  • .NET 8 Compatibility
    The UniObjects for .NET standard libraries can now be compiled against .NET 8, supporting modern development workflows and future-proofing your applications.
  • Windows Server 2025 Certification
    Rocket U2 Clients are now officially certified for use with Windows Server 2025, ensuring compatibility with the latest enterprise environments.
  • Improved Certificate Manager Experience
    The Certificate Manager interface has been updated with a more intuitive option order, streamlining certificate management tasks.
  • SSL Certificate Expiration Access
    U2 Clients now provide access to the SSL server certificate expiration date via UniObjects for Java (UOJ) and UniObjects for .NET (UO.NET), helping developers proactively manage security.
