We’re excited to share a new release of MV Basic for VS Code that delivers meaningful improvements, with a strong focus on jBASE environments.

What’s Improved

Stronger jBASE Support

This release significantly expands jBASE capabilities, particularly for online development. Customers can now more easily connect to jBASE servers, explore accounts and files, and work with data in real time. Configuration and build workflows have also been streamlined to better align with modern jBASE project setups.

Smarter Developer Assistance

We’ve enhanced in-editor guidance using official jBASE documentation, helping developers understand language features and behavior more quickly, without leaving their workspace.

Better Configuration & Workflow Flexibility

Catalog, compile, and connection configurations are now more complete and consistent, making projects easier to set up, maintain, and share across environments.

Improved Accuracy & Compatibility

Several fixes reduce false warnings and remove unnecessary constraints, resulting in clearer diagnostics and better compatibility with real-world coding patterns across UniVerse systems.

Expanded UniData Support

Support for newer UniData 8.4.1 BASIC features has been improved, ensuring compatibility with modern versions and enabling developers to take advantage of enhanced language capabilities.

I am not having any success connecting Rocket MV BASIC for Visual Studio Code for online editing on our Universe 11.4.1 running on IBM/AIX.    Where can I get help?

The same MVVS support for OpenQM would be greatly appreciated. OpenQM users would really appreciate some attention.
