Hello everyone.  I am new to the forum and have just upgraded to UniVerse 11.3.5.  I was told there is a tool MVX (Multivalue Performance Experience) that can be installed and was hoping to find out if anyone is currently using this tool.  I would like to know more about it, before I decide on whether or not to install it on my system.

Hello Keith,

Allow me to direct you to the Rocket Software MVX landing page:

RocketĀ® MultiValue Performance Experience | Free Performance Monitoring Tool | Rocket Software

Then search our youtube channel Rocket Software - YouTube for "MVX" here for some of the later videos for some quick guidance. Look for those released within the last year, as the product has evolved.

Feel free to reach out to support with some more detailed questions.

Whether you would find the product useful depends on what you currently have in place as well as packages that you use.  Our site has had the product installed of two years, but still only have it tied to a test server.  We already had CRON jobs as well as SolarWinds to monitor our servers.  The focus of the last few releases has been to add UniData and to build on monitoring the replication process.  If you have replication, then it might be useful for you.  Personally, we are waiting for functionality to be able to monitor specific processes as well as correct an email issue.  We're also hoping for better details in emails as well as a format that can be forwarded as text messages or sent to trigger alert events.

Hello Charles,
In terms of the monitoring of specific processes, there's a MVX.GEN.EVENT.B subroutine with a MVX.GEN.EVENT.DEMO.B program (see MVXDB BP) to demonstrate it which was introduced at MVX v1.8. As to the latest email fixes please adopt MVX v1.10.2 which is planned for a release with UniVerse 14.2.1. There's no official release date for UniVerse v14.2.1 as we are in the process of completing QA, but feel free to reach out to product management for an ETA.

Christian,

I found the MVXDB account on the client server where mvadmin was installed.
