We’re excited to share that SB/XA 6.6.4 is available as of November 24th! This update is packed with updates that respond directly to customer feedback across the SB/XA Rich Client, Application Server, MV-MX integration, and SBClient. Let’s walk through what’s new and what’s been fixed.

What’s New – Empowering Users with Flexibility and Control

1. SB/XA Rich Client goes ANYCPU
We’ve rebuilt the SB/XA Rich Client as an ANYCPU application. This means it can now run seamlessly on both 32-bit and 64-bit environments without needing separate builds, simplifying deployment and future-proofing your systems.

2. Smarter MV-MX Integration
We’ve added the ability to generate MX drivers in both mv and JSON formats for Input/Output screens. This opens up integration possibilities with external systems and modern APIs, giving you more flexibility in how you connect and share data.

3. Silent Install for SB/XA Application Server (Windows)
Installing the SB/XA Application Server on Windows just got easier. With silent install support, you can automate deployments, saving time and reducing manual errors — a big win for IT teams managing multiple environments.

Whether it’s the flexibility of AnyCPU builds, the control over MX integration, or the silent install that makes IT teams smile, this release is about making the customer experience smoother, faster, and more secure.

What’s Fixed – Smoother, Faster, More Reliable

1. Rocket® MultiValue Integration Server (MVIS) Performance Boost
We’ve optimized SB.REMOTE.DBCLIENT and SB.REMOTE.PROCESS for MVIS calls. You’ll notice faster response times and improved throughput — especially valuable for high-volume integrations.

2. No More SB/XA password rollover failures

SB/XA password rollover in the Rich Client used to fail, blocking access to the application. Not anymore. We’ve resolved this issue, so failed logins are handled gracefully, improving reliability and user experience.

3. Rich Client Stability
We tackled several crash scenarios:

  • HTML report printing no longer causes the Rich Client to crash.
  • Changing passwords works as expected.
  • Using the /HTML,\\networkLocation\C:\ command no longer destabilizes the client.

4. UI Improvements

  • XUI grid scrollbars now respond correctly when the grid isn’t in focus.
  • Internal browser encoding changes now apply properly, ensuring consistent rendering.

SBClient Updates – Security and Usability

1. FTP/SFTP Password Handling
We’ve improved how SBClient handles passwords during file transfers. This makes secure data exchange more intuitive and less error prone.

2. Enhanced Security
Control Flow Guard and Stack Protection are now enabled in SBClient. These are modern security features that help prevent exploits and improve overall system resilience.

3. UI Fix
SBClient no longer shifts position when starting a new session after closing — a small but impactful fix for user comfort.

This isn’t just a version bump — it’s a step forward in usability, stability, and integration. We’re excited for you to experience it.
