I hope this includes D3. After all, D3 is still a Rocket product.

Hello Alex,

SB/XA supports UniVerse and Unidata. We don't have support on D3 in the roadmap at the moment. The ALL in the release announcement means SB/XA is supported on all OS platforms the U2 MV servers support. That information is visible in RBC.

Kind regards,

Well then the message should have said SB/XA instead of SB+. Then I wouldn't have got so excited.

Hello Alex,
This applies to both SB+ and SB/XA. Both support the UniVerse and Unidata MultiValue servers. The 6.5.7 release includes all components of the System Builder suite. SB/XA, SB+ and SB Client.

Best regards,

Well Alex,
I would get excited too; but SB+ or any version of SB+ [SB/XA etc] has not had support for d3 in years; and I wouldn't hold your breath.

I asked the head of RnD [I think] some years back at a mv tech shindig in Sydney about the possibility of having SB+/SB whatever 'back' on d3 especially as it started there; and the answer was an adamant "No". I forget who were the owners of mv at the time; I THINK it may have been when part of IBM. That is, pre-Rocket; but I do not think that makes a difference.

Rocket imho has a clear, verifiable and biased view toward all things U2; with d3 as an annoying second fiddle.

So, will there ever be an d3 version of SB+ again? I doubt it; because Rocket is not even certain about d3; so why would they invest there?

Which is why tools like designbais have [imho] 'taken over' anything sb+-like; and do a damn fine job too.

End rant.

David
