Hi, I have an existing reflection session layout with the following 3 files:- SessionA_NPE.rd3x SessionA_NPE.rwsp SharedMacros.rd3x What I want to do is copy/paste this to a new layout with a different name so the session is called SessionA. ie SessionA.rd3x SessionA.rwsp SharedMacros.rd3x I cant seem to do this just by renaming files on disk - the code complains that is missing a reference to SessionA_NPE.rd3x. Can someone please suggest the easiest way to do this? I am hoping I don't have to re-create all the buttons etc from scratch. Thank you Regards Steve#Reflection

In systems with w10 installed and Server for cobol 5.1 rev 18 license, for 10 concurrent users, when starting a Cobol application made with NE, this message appears, as if the user counter remains in memory or in processes running. It does not happen in systems with Win7. To solve it, it forces to have to restart the PC or to close session. What is the cause of the error and how to solve it?

Like the title asks, what is the fastest way to pull data out of Rumba? Is it using an EML macro, RMC macro, HLLAPI, or some other method that I'm not aware of? Has Micro Focus or anyone benchmarked the different methods?#Rumba

One of the first tricks I learned as a newbie System/38 developer was from Jim Sloan at a COMMON conference in the 80's  (whoa...talk about "way back"!). The tip was this: "If you need a program to process a database file that just needs to exist for the life of the job, create that file in library QTEMP. Once the job ends, the OS automatically deletes this library as well".  Super-slick. So, what's the challenge? The challenge is compiling this program. You have to create the file in your interactive session's QTEMP and then compile your program interactively (not in batch) in order to find that file in that same job's QTEMP library. That's not an impossible challenge, but what if you have LMi and you need to move your program up the workflow using LMi's promotion? These all get submitted to batch! We get this question quite often, so I thought I'd give everyone some ideas. My best idea it this: create all of your "QTEMP files" in a special library, e.g. LMIQTEMP. Now add that library

I work with a set of code that verifies data and emails when something is wrong so these problems can be dealt with right away. It runs overnight as a phantom started by a linux cron job.The often changing nature of this code means it can be more prone to bugs like a variable not assigned.  That's fine, I can see the problems in the runtime-errors next day and fix. My problem is this program quits when it runs into a runtime error but if I run the same code in the foreground it doesn't.Is there a setting where I can control this behavior?Environment is D3 10.2 on CentOS------------------------------Bob FrankSoftware DeveloperJoseph N Golubov Associates IncLeesburg FL US------------------------------

The Auto-complete feature is located under Options\\Session Configuration. The Auto-complete feature tries to predict what you want to type in an unprotected field on a native green screen, or in an InputField control in a Plus session. The Auto-complete configuration allows you to enable or disable the Auto-complete feature in all green screen and Plus sessions. You can set the Maximum List Length (maximum number of listed items) from 1-99.  The default is 5. Hey guys, not sure if anything went through an update or change but I am having problems with the display requirements for my reflection workspaces.  Today when I logged onto my computer, I went to open the usual six different sessions that I have equally adjusted in window size to fit my 1920x1080 screen.  However, it now seems that I'm constricted to a minimum width/height for each session and can only fit four on my screen because I can't adjust them any smaller in width or height.  Seems to be a limit? Does anyone have a solution?  I'm literally taking about the window size of the session and I can't seem to figure it out.#Reflection

I'm evaluating Micro Focus Enterprise Developer to determine if it can be used for developing our IMS application. Over the years, we've spent vast amounts of effort on performance improvement. A key component is caching: we run as a Reusable Runtime Environment, so once a program is loaded, it stays loaded along with all of its memory. This enables us to trade higher one-time processing for much lower processing on subsequent transactions. From what I can see, the closest MFED ES can come to this is ES_IMS_CANCEL_MODE=D (or L, if we remove all of our DLITCBL entry points). But when I try ES_IMS_CANCEL_MODE=D, it doesn't work. I executed the same transaction twice in a row in the same message region, and on the second time all of the program's working storage was reset back to the initial state. Is there a trick to getting ES_IMS_CANCEL_MODE=D to work? I'm wondering if it is just keeping the program DLLs loaded but still freeing all of the working storage.#IMS#EnterpriseDeveloper#ims

As a normal practice I wouldn't be posting example code onto the forum unless someone was needing help about a specific problem. We did have a question come in from a customer this week asking for a new conversion code be added to UniData. This brought up a couple of interesting subjects. The customer was not aware that you could write your own code following a template to create your own conversion codes. When reading uv/errlog events, I would like to know what the call return stack was when the error occurred.In other words, the same info one gets from PORT.STATUS LAYER.STACK, or RAID "T" trace command, or SYSTEM(9001) function call.
