Greetings all! Attempting to: Create a list in PROC Call a catalogued Basic program Using PROCREAD in that Basic program in a LOOP/REPEAT construct Expecting the PROCREAD would pop off list elements until exiting the LOOP/REPEAT construct. To date, I haven't been able to get any data passed.  Does anyone have the mojo to get this bugger working? THX in advance for y'alls always great advice! ~Doc

Hi All,   As part of our ongoing upgrade, we are transitioning the Uniface environment from Uniface 7 (on OpenVMS) to Uniface 10 (on Linux).During this migration, we encountered an issue with a 3GL function that was previously working as expected in the OpenVMS environment. The function is invoked using the following Uniface command:   perform "3glfunction"edit/nowander   This 3GL function is implemented in a .c file located in a Linux directory. Its purpose is to pause the Uniface application until a specified time has elapsed. Once the timer completes, the function uses UPUTAMES to send a response back to Uniface.While this setup worked seamlessly on OpenVMS, it does not function correctly on Linux. The Linux version of the 3GL function uses a timer thread, which is detached after the timer ends. Although UPUTAMES works independently and is capable of sending responses back to the application, it fails to trigger the expected behavior in Uniface-specifically, the form does not displa

I've been working with the RDi plug-in for a few months now and find it quite useful ... that said, I do have a few recommendations for improvements. Move (or copy) the create object / compile option from the Team submenu, when you right click on an item in the RSE tree, to the top level.  Strictly speaking, compile isn't a change control function and it's probably the most frequently used. Add an option to the popup menu to set the RDi connection jobs library list to the library list that would be used to compile the member.  This will allow the outline view to find copy members.  I currently have a command defined in RSE that runs ACMSLIBL to set the library list, but I have to define multiple commands and run the one that is appropriate for the program I'm working on. Avoid running operations on the Eclipse UI thread, as it causes RDi to lock up (even if only briefly).  Spawn new threads or use the Eclipses job functionality.  This applies to opening source members & saving dir

Hello maybe someone can help, I have a changeman application that in the past has installed to a remote site but now the requirement is to only install on the same dev box that Changeman is running on. So i removed the remote site so nobody can add that site when creating a package and i added a local site with a dummy library defined so then it would only do the baseline process. However the 10 job fails(sortof there is no bad rc) with the following error message which causes the 11 job to fail. Hello all, We are currently in the process of upgrading from Uniface 10.4.02.052 to 10.4.03.019 and have noticed a difference in behaviour with our HTML widget that we are not sure how to resolve. I believe this is probably due to a newer version of the CEF framework that is included in this release. I know that Uniface is not responsible for CEF functionality, however, I wonder if anyone has encountered the following issue or can suggest a solution.... We have a form component with a HTML widget on it. We communicate with a third-party via REST APIs and they send us back the URLs of a number of images, and we then update the HTML widget to render these images. The URLs to these images are stored on a CDN. Whenever the HTML widget renders these images the following error is recorded in the message frame: HTML Widget: Third-party cookie will be blocked. We're testing GitZMF and it works in the right direction of adding "new protocols" to access mainframe sources. It's clear how to use it while developing from VSCode or similar. We would like also to use it when we've to orchestrate processes like source scanning, security scanning and so on. It would be great to use the git protocol instead of setting up FTP or custom scripts. At the moment of course we cannot use it because the "prerequisite" is creating a ChangeMan package on the mainframe and a gitZMF pull would work from the package. Can you think of developing something in the GitZMF for getting sources from the baseline maybe for a full application + type key? We know that there is a big gap between a non-mainframe project (where all the sources are "pulled" for working) and a mainframe project where we usually take a specific subset (the package) but still we would also need a way to "pull" the full application... Tips and Tricks for Uniface Logging  During the development or maintenance of your Uniface application, you may need additional insights into what is happening under the hood. Fortunately, Uniface provides several increasingly detailed logging options to help you optimize your ProcScript or investigate issues such as why a userver won't start.  The following tips apply to ide.asn, urouter.asn, userver.asn, and uniface.asn. The settings are also documented in the Uniface library.    $PUTMESS_LOG_FILE  This is the most commonly used log file setting. It writes the message frame to a file. $PUTMESS_LOG_FILE records what the Uniface process is doing in sequential order, with an emphasis on OS calls. This is very useful for determining what happened during the execution of your Uniface application.  To activate, use the following setting:  [SETTINGS]  $PUTMESS_LOG_FILE=c:unifacelogsmyapp_putmess%p.log  This will create a log file for the process you are running (uniface.e

I've not ventured back to VS Code for a fair while, so have some questions and things that need clarification.My understanding for searching through the community posts what when you start vs code (such as from the command line 'code . ') if an existing .cblproj file exists it is read and the compile directives used, SQL directives and copybook paths.I seem to find this isn't true. Hi sb users, I'll share a vsCode extension to edit Sbparagraph code.  Use a trigger on XXPROCESS to sync P type in a Directory.  Use sftp/sync to have it on the client Edit your code Use a ssh RUN program to sync back, copy into XXPROCESS, regen the process (like f2), run GC. It return ProblemMatcher info.  Capabilities : syntaxe coloris, all sb common vars, all SBExpression, all sbSubrs, Formater (indent), Hover, SignatureHelp. Hi FreaksAll our components do have a component local variable $INSTANCEPROPERTIES$To check certain things at entity level, our entity operations (on model-level) does have some code which reads/write to $INSTANCEPROPERTIES$Compiled component works without any error.But when compiling the entity operations at there own, I got an error(OP_OCC_INIT) error: 1000 - Component variable '$INSTANCEPROPERTIES$' not found any idea to supress this error? BTW: Even the entity is not valid, says the compiler.
