Hi Experts,I have performance issue while doing duplicate check before saving the data. If you operate a hybrid environment and use mainframe data in the cloud, you are probably doing this: Use FTP or some other tool to transfer mainframe generated data to cloud Your cloud native app picks its up, does some processing, say, some advanced analytics on the data. You transfer back the processed data from cloud to mainframe for further processing. I think I have devised a way where you can use Harmonizer's source code comparison to do a merge. Please see the attached document. In this example, I am using Harmonizer to compare two versions of a program that are in different source members: PGM1V1 and PGM1V2. They can be in the same source file or different, they can be in the same library or different, they can even be in different systems! The one "trick" is that you need to specify your primary source file twice as underlined below. HelloSince years we start the Uniface runtime from a networkshare with our customers. (= server-installation of the runtime.- with client-installation of C++ runtime and client-side SQLserver ODBC-source + asn)Since Uniface 9.7.04 we experience problems starting our application. Our first trial to start our application usually doesn't give a result (uniface.exe process starts but hangs) The second time we start our application is usually succesfull. BUT since uniface 9.7.05 things became worse, we sometimes have to start our application multiple (+- 10) times before the application really visualises. If you debug from startup it always works, but that's not really what customers should do. Any idea what we can investigate?Regards,Johan

QUESTION:  Visual COBOL includes support for running inside Docker containers. Is there a way a program can determine whether it's running within a container?   HOW TO STEPS: The built-in routine CBL_GET_OS_INFO, can provide information about the COBOL product in use, and the environment in which it's running. As part of the support for working with containers, this routine has been enhanced to return a new bit flag to indicate whether the program is running in a Docker container. We have a Jenkins agent running in OMVS, maybe not properly, but...it’s a start.i am looking at installing the Rocket OpenSource tools, but...if I want to run Ansible, for which ZOAU requires a later version of python, and seemingly requires the IBM-distributed version (3.9.x) and not the Rocket-distributed version (3.7.x?).IF I start by installing the Python that comes with z/OS v2r5, which is the later version, does Conda recognize that it’s installed and not try to install a second version?I think that’s all I need to know at the moment, but I’m sure I’ll have more questions as I go.Thanks,R;

So, one of our clients is trying to set up a Linux proxy to route to the Tomcat server on the windows installation of Uniface, in order to publish our web pages with https encryption, and not to expose the main server to the internet. I have previously done this with a remote IIS server using the isapi_redirect dll, but not with anything running under Linux. The engineer appears to have hit a large number of problems, mostly with relative path names, but now also apparently with DSPs referenced from inside a container.... I don't know enough about the technology he is using to suggest where he needs to go, so any help would be appreciated. Iain

Hi there, hopefully I'm not doing something silly.In the following code block, with READNEXT after a WHILE, the VS Code extension thinks READNEXT and FROM are variables and complains that those and SEL.ID are unassigned variables. LOOP WHILE READNEXT SEL.ID FROM SEL DO READ REC FROM SOMEFILE, SEL.ID THEN Is there some way to change this behaviour in settings or is it just a bug we have to live with for the moment?Note that this behaviour is not exhibited when READNEXT does not directly follow a WHILE.Sam

Hello, Please, I have a file on TSO with the length of 174. But the 30 last positions of the file have blanks. When I transfer,  the PC file come with 144 positions. How to  transfer the file from mainframe to PC with the original 174 positions even if it has blanks at the end of the file? Thank you#Rumba

I am evaluating Micro Focus Enterprise Developer in Visual Studio 2019. I had to uninstall and reinstall it to get the embedded Rumba function, but after doing so, now I have all the Micro Focus entries in Server Explorer duplicated: 2 nodes each for Micro Focus Analysis Servers, 2 each for ES.NET Servers, etc. I'm guessing the uninstall didn't remove whatever was set to define the server nodes, so the reinstall added them again. How do you remove the extra nodes? I can't find where this is actually stored.#EnterpriseDeveloper#VisualStudio

I got problem when I run the microfocus cobol module like CBLRTSM.DLL error..this is for dynamic binding error. I am using cobol patch version 5 for compile the module . But when I run module I got the dynamic binding error

Application contains calls to subprograms (dll in my case). Calls to Subprogram/dll work when you start debug from IDE.Calls to Subprogram/dll do not work when you start debug from the Visual Studio command line. When running programs without debug, it works if you put them all in the same folder.You can have a common output folder for all exe and DLL files in settings (for each program). I have not found a output folder setting at debug. Do I have to manually copy dll:s to the output folder of the main program?
