We have an issue where the column sizes of grids don't store in the registry.  The keep layout is set to default, and the storage is set to component. The grid layout is set ON. I have recently found an updated .ini setting in LAYOUT SaveContainedForm and I have set that to on.  We do have some fields painted which are for data storage, rather than display, so they are set to hidden and then the whole column is hidden using $columnsyntax as part of the initialisation routine. I seem to recall something about this preventing column sizes of the other fields being stored. Is that still the case?  We did have a home grown function in 'column_resized' and 'viewport_resized' to store the layout in a separate registry key if the columns were hidden (using the 'VISIBLE' grid property), but we were informed it was likely the cause of crashes, so it's been edited out. So, is there a good method of getting the system to store the column sizes of the visible columns of a grid widget where (for UI

My customer, UniVerse 13.5, is running on Nashville Metro Government's internal cloud.  The network security is so restrictive that it is difficult to get work done for the customer.  I have requested information from the "mypickcloud" website but have received no response.  Does anyone know if that cloud still exists and if so how to contact them.  If they do not exist does anyone have recomendations on other clouds where UniVerse could reside?  I have looked at AWS website and am buffaloed by the complexity of their options.  I would simply want to move my customer's system and data to a cloud server for day-to-day operations. Hi, I am changing an existing, working Oracle Pro*Cobol, Visual COBOL program. I was able to change 2 .cpy COPY files and compile. I was able to change 1 .cob INCLUDE (EXEC SQL) file and compile. Now, whatever I change in any .cob file, I systematically get the same compiler errors: COBCH0562 : An "ELSE" phrase did not have a matching IF and was discarded. COBCH0564 : A scope-delimiter did not have a matching verb and was discarded I have tried everything I could think of up to introducing my changes again line per line but with the same result. I am desperate and out of ideas. Did any of you ever experience something similar and what was your solution? We have been live since the 23rd July and have seen a huge increase in the number of Uniface sessions which are hanging/crashing on the Windows servers.Server SpecWindows 20198CPU, 20Gb RamOracle Client 19c 32BitUniface 10.3.2.4Application distributed via CitrixDB Repository is Oracle 19c on Solaris 11User sessions run 'ok' but many people see session freezes and some see crashes. On the servers we are seeing MiniDump files being created for some users. Hi, We currently have a Net Express based application with a .Net frontend communicating through CCITCP. I've been tasked with converting the app to managed COBOL using VC10. So, wanted to ask if the correct approach is to replace CCITCP with smartlinkage  and if anyone has already done this. Hello, We have several clients who run Uniface 9 on Uniface Anywhere without any issues. All of the working environments are using either Windows Server 2012 R2 or 2016. However, a new client of ours has requested that we run it on Windows Server 2019. When running the Uniface application on the server, it works fine. But when using Uniface Anywhere, the GOLD KEY does not function properly. We have set the $SWAP_GOLD_PROFILE in the ASN file. Here are the issues we are encountering: Typing "*" (Shift + 8) results in only "*" being displayed. Typing "*" (from the numeric keypad) results in "GOLD*" (which is the only correct behavior). Typing ">" (Shift + .) results in only ">" being displayed. Typing "=" results in "=" only. This happens even when using the same ASN file both locally and in the Uniface Anywhere application. The python 'dict' object is ubiquitous when interacting with python modules, functions and classes. The process to create a python DICT object using the U2 BASIC Python API is, well, interesting: Create a LIST containing just the 'name' and 'value' for the DICT entry Create a TUPLE from the list Append the TUPLE to another LIST that will be used to create the DICT When the LIST of TUPLE objects is completed, create a DICT using the LIST of TUPLES This all works ok for strings and numbers, but I cannot get a boolean True or False value to use in the tuple. I either get an integer value of 1, or 'None'. Hi Expert, I am new to U2 and the EDA Schema Manager tool. I am trying to import data from U2 files into a SQL table using EDA. I have successfully created an ODBC DSN connection and installed the EDA. Additionally, I connected to the U2 server and can see the schema files. However, I am encountering issues with the EDA Source connection.  I correctly created the connection, but when I validated it, I received different error messages each time. Here are the error details: 1. EDA license not authorized.2. Map Schema __CURRENT_MAP_SCHEMA__ failed on lex check.3. Could not write the data source (Connection Name) on Server (U2Server). Could you please advise on the reasons for these errors? Is it a license issue, and if so, how do I obtain a license? Or could it be a configuration issue? I would appreciate your help. After being unsuccessful installing the server side of AccuTerm 8 either from my Cisco VPN connection or from a local to the network workstation, Metro's IT department suggested that I install the AccuTerm client onto the server and try the "install server" step from there.  The results have been pretty much identical.  I have copied some screenshots below.  The process has completed only the establishment of the FTBP directory and the installation of FTPBPINST into that directory.  This leaves me with three questions:  Has anyone been successful in installing the server side of AccuTerm on a windows, (2022) server?  Is the windows server just not possible?  Is there a manual step by step process that I can follow to make this installation?  I sure would appreciate some help.
