New versions of :ZMF Explorer for ChangeMan ZMF V2.0.4 is now available on the VSCode MarketPlace.This version should be installed before the end of September 2023 due to a breaking change that is being introduced by Microsoft in their October release. I am getting the following error when attempting to display a screen in Visual COBOL: 114 attempt to access item beyond bounds of memory (signal 11). I read the article at the following link:   https://community.rocketsoftware.com/discussion/causes-of-114-attempt-to-access-item-beyond-bounds-of-memory-error#bm5f1a6939-d93a-4e25-8a5a-bef747adc13d   The article suggests a possible solution by allocating memory. However, I do not understand their description of how to do this.   I am using Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 with Visual COBOL version 9 on Windows 10. This problem does not occur with my previous version of Visual Studio and Visual COBOL. These versions are, respectively, Visual Studio 2019 and Visual COBOL version 5. Hi,  am now using Accuterm well but am stumped by the the resulting functionality of the  Combo Box. Lets say the combo Box is waiting for a request and the user enters a Name (as requested)   BAXTER  I then search the Customers file and find 21. When I have created a list and loaded it, how do I make the list shown on the screen so that the user knows that their search request has a result. I realise that the user could simply press the "down arrow" but I would prefer to show them the first 8 items to indicate that the selection is ready for picking  I hope this makes sense. Hello, i try to read user information from the ActiveDirectory with OleDB. Most work already. But currently i have problems to get the Data when the User Password will expire. The Data is saved in an integer8 field but i don't get the expected value in my code here. in  @fields::@item("msDS-UserPasswordExpiryTimeComputed")::valuein hlp-test4I should receive for my user for example the value: 133494369554492556But i get only 7624I tried several things.Cause it is an integer8 value it should be declared as s9(18) comp-5 but here is also the value 7624.Has anyone an idea how to get here the correct value? Hi allThis time it's OpenDB.I have a spreadsheet, which I can read in D3 and swap the LF to @Am - we know this. It's a CSV file so I know that the columns are delineated by a semicolon (did this on purpose when I spreadsheet was created (SEP=;)Now, when I create an Oracle table with the column headings I always find myself offset by 1 because the item (that D3 writes) writes the KEY in the first attribute :(Now even if I add this (as a first column) in Oracle - I still seem to not be able to line up the rank (of the D3 attributes) and the columns.Has anyone experienced this?  Let me know if you require the example of the D3 Q pointer but I believe I have this correct. Also, if I write the record with a NUL key - I seem to get inconsistent results.@Robert Burke - any solutions that you may have?ThanksStefano

Hi Sir, Your help is very much appreciated. I was struggling from week. I have sample VB script code that have created bzwhll object that will open session & login into bluezone mainframe. The sample code is working from command line system32>cscript filename.vbs. (It create object, opensession,login to bluezone) Same script will fail from below run command syswow64>csript filenam.vbs The same script I added to .hta file and ran it from win10 OS. I’m receiving “ActiveX component can’t create object bzwhll.whllobj”. It fails at second line in code give below. Has anyone else experienced this?   Since the move to UniData 8.2.4 Build 3003, I cannot use the "BL"  (Break at Line) in the UniBASIC Debugger without getting a mini dump for my troubles. I am unclear if I've just gotten really unlucky, or if something is not working as expected in this build. I have the team I work with opening a case, but wanted to see if this is something that is just my miserable luck, or if something is not quite right. Hi All I''ve just started working with AccuTerm 8. x and as a developer, we sometimes need to break out of code that is processing to debug.Yes, I could place a conditional debug statement in the code but het guess what "Real men don't do that"  :)Anyway - pressing all key sequences (that I know) bears no fruit so I've stopped guessing and put this fwd to this group.I'm running Windows (10 and 11) and set my emulation to Viewpoint onto a Linux installed D3 10. xDoes anyone have the correct key sequence, please?Thanks Stefano

I've been working on using udb (https://undo.io/) with native COBOL using Visual Studio code. So far it works ok as I can step forward and backward over code. The problem is that I can't see any of the variables. I suspect this is because the executables don't contain any of the DWARF information used by most debuggers but instead use seperate .idy files I can see that you do support this for Visual COBOL and Eclipse (www.microfocus.com/.../time-travel-debug-extension-for-visual-cobol-and-enterprise-developer) and would like to extend that functionality to Visual Studio Code. I see that this is supported by IBM via the TEST(DWARF) compiler option (www.ibm.com/.../6.1 and was wondering if Opentext had something similar Currently using Micro Focus Visual COBOL Development Hub 8.0 but I can upgrade to 9.0 if you believe that will make a difference Thank you in advance for your help.

I tried to install but dont appear cobol perspective. I find in xml activation  file something like this  <description>ManagedCheckerDocker</description>   and  <attribute> <name>License Group</name> <valueList> <value>Visual-COBOL-Eclipse-Build-Tools-Docker-Named-User</value>  I think this is the problem  But I dont know how I can fix it. 

We've written a .net browser control that should provide the functionality we need post active-x (webbrowser2 is inadequate for our needs).  The issue we are having is with capturing events.  Could someone explain how to capture the .net control events in our COBOL program?  I know this has been asked before, but I do not see a resolution.  The dll has been registered and is in the run directory, and netdefgen has generated the def file.  We can display the control.  What's missing is the communication of events back to the COBOL program.  We are using the 10.5 runtime.  

Hello dear colleagues, first of all, thank you for the opportunity. I am a programmer of the Reflection Basic Editor scripts. Please look at both attached pictures. I just need to recover 2 things,  1) The debuging button "View Variable" is missing (when I am running a script from the script editor). It stop working several years ago. I reintalled the whole application. Even in a new laptop and I can't make it work.  2) In the same way, the F1 help its also missing. No information at all is comming when F1 is selected. I appreciate if you can help me. I like to use Reflection basic Editor, but "View Variables" and "Help" is very necesary.  Thank you in advance.      Omar R.#Other

This was highlighted to me by the Director of Development as a feature when we were shipping UniVerse 4.4.4. The command syntax is: verb [DICT] filename [records | FROM list#] … where verb is among 18 options including CHECKSUM, COUNT, and LIST. Do we care if the file name can be almost anywhere in the query? Do we want to advertise this feature in the documentation? Should we just follow the documentation which wants [DICT] filename first? Is this for compatibility with some legacy multivalue environment? Is this capability simply a side effect of the lex/parse implementation? Block commentsThere are times when it would be very helpful to have the capability to use block comments. In BASIC programs, using a 'IFDEF()' sort of works but this capability should be available in all source code environments, e.g., BASIC programs, procs, paragraphs, etc. This would allow using markdown for documentation and would simplify program maintenance and management.2. Default text file typeFiles using Type 1 and Type 19 are intended for storing text data. Type 1 is a throwback (way back) to old Pick capabilities and, on current systems (Linux or other) is just another piece of tedium to deal with. hello there, I have used Accuterm and Unibasic for the last 4 months, and I used the basic and standard toolboxes from Accuterm 8. That looks like old vintage themes, For Example, I want the input field with the curve edges as well as buttons, and more. So, I want to create a better user interface for my application.is there any alternative or any ideas? Any information you can provide would be highly appreciated. Our MSP company just started supporting a customer that is using version universe dbms 10.1.3.0 on a windows xp system access from other systems via a terminal program.   XP can print to its windows tcp printers.  Customers accounting APP is no longer able to print, I don't think print job is reaching printer. I started looking at manuals online and another article related to printing but I don't have an understanding how to verify the configuration or how the choice of printer would be made by them when they want to print out various documents versus printing checks. I included a screen shot of what I started exploring using the setptr cmd. Glenn
