Hi everybody:

I am a free-lance developer that used to work with Acucobol-GT (version 8.1 the last I own).
I think that many folks like me are a litle lost with the sale of ACUCORP and the lack of new versions, information and support, or at least, the change in the way of managing it.
My local dealer (Argentina) seens to be disappeared or unmotivated (Some idea of mine).
I think: Cobol or New Programming lenguage (maybe C# or Java) ?.
Some information would be wellcome.
Thanks.
CB.

Hi,

We've certainly had some changes in our partners in South America, but if you want to contact me directly (mark.warren@microfocus.com) I can make sure someone gets in touch.

We recently released extend v9.0 of extend which is a major update including new support for Web Services.

With Visual COBOL R3 we're introducing increased compatibility with extend to make it easier for extend users to migrate to the latest development environment and start modernizing their applications.

Hope that makes sense. Please let me know if you need more information.

Thanks Mark for your reply.

I'd like to know some detailed information about Extend 9.0.0.
Let me know if there is a new local partner to talk to.
What did happen to INFOCOM anyway.
Greetings.
CB.

If you can email your details to me at mark.warren@microfocus.com I'll pass them on to someone who should be able to assist.

Thanks

Hi CB52 !

As Infocom we have been selling Acucobol in Argentina since 1994 and now we continue doing it as members of the Interon Alliance.
Last november we did 2 events (one in Sao Paulo and the other in Buenos Aires) presenting the news regarding Acu, including extend 9 .
If you have any question or want to upgrade your current software please contact us to info@infocomsa.com.ar or 54-11-4831-0940 - if you did business with us in the past you should already have this information.

Although some time ago there was some uncertain about what would Microfocus do with Acucobol, the product line remains alive and benefits from the combination with other Microfocus tecnologies.
