What will, or is likely to cause the following error condition:

"AcuCOBOL-GT 32 bit Runtime has stopped working"?

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I am running AcuCOBOL version 5.2 and am in the process of converting to version 9.

This problem has cropped up within the last four weeks.

At present, all other users appear to be using the programs without any problems.

My fellow programmers also appear to be OK.

If I use my laptop accessing the network and using my work logon, my programs are failing with this message.

When I use my laptop using the programs independent of the network, programs appear to work successfully.

The program I am running crashes on a statement:

CALL "WIN$PRINTER" USING WINPRINT-GET-PRINTER-INFO-EX,
                                                   WINPRINT-SELECTION.

At this point, the program - I presume WIN$PRINTER hangs and after a few seconds displays the error box.

As I am running this program using Debugger, I do not get amy messages displayed on screen or written to a file for further analysis.

There are NO messages to assist with diagnosing the problem.

Please advise what steps I can further pursue.

I think this may be a problem for the boffins.

Iam running a desktop using Windows 7 Professional - 64 bit.

Thank you for assisting me with a solution to this problem.

Yours sincerely

We had a problem like this where it appeared that the runtime was unable to find the right driver .. ecn3956: 8.1.2 Correction: WIN$PRINTER routine finds wrong printer driver      - since you are using a version after 8.1.2 it would be best to get a reproducing example to Customer Care so we can diagnose and fix this issue.

Although we are licensed for Version 9 and have installed it on one desktop, it has not been devolved to all users at this stage.

Hence I am using version 5.2 runtime and this is where I am having the problem.

Similarly, I get the problem, regardless of the environment - Production, Testing, Development.

The problem is unique to my desktop as no other user is experiencing this issue.

Other the the message "AcuCOBOL-GT 32 bit Runtime has stopped working"?

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I get no further diagnostic message to fully expalin the problem.

Please refer to Customer Care for further examination.

Many thanks for your assistance
