Not sure fi this is the right place fo rthis.
We are running AcuODBC 7.1 on a LINUX platform and accessing the data from a Windows machine. We made a change to our data structure. We rebuilt the data file and rebuilt the XFD file. Loaded both of these onto our LINUX server in the proper place (copied old versions aside). Restarted acuodbcs. Went into Windows using Excel to access the data but the updated file no longer appears in the dialog box. It was there before we made the changes. No errors show up in the logs. Anyone on the forum seen this happen before?

When you said "rebuilt" do you mean you used vutil -rebuild or did the fd of the file get changed? I will guess the later, which is why you "rebuilt" the xfd. So are you using a new spreadsheet in Excel or your old one, as the old one was laid out by the previous xfd. Are you able to make a new "blank" spreadsheet and import?

John,

I'll be looking into it but first need to reinstall AcuCobol-Gt V7.x and AcuODBC etc. will probably get this tomorrow morning done.
Will then test and hopefully suggest a possible reason/solution, I remember having had similar things happen sometimes.

If possible use for example Access and try if you can see the file if you open the DSN, if that works then the problem is Excel. Create a new test spreadsheet and open the DSN and see if the file now is visible.

Best regards,

Piet
