Problem:

After installing and configuring the AcuXDBC client, the next step is to create a Data Source Name (DSN). This is done using the Windows ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog. However, clicking on the ā€œDriversā€ tab does not show an entry for the AcuXDBC driver (ACUXDBC.DLL) when the client machine is a 64-bit Windows system.

Resolution:

On 64-bit Windows systems, the default Windows ODBC Data Source Administrator is C:\\Windows\\System32\\odbcad32.exe which does not have an entry for the AcuXDBC driver. There is a second instance of the Windows ODBC Data Source Administrator (odbcad32.exe) located in the C:\\Windows\\SysWOW64 directory that has the expected entry for the AcuXDBC driver.
