Has anyone had any experience with conversion of html doc's
to pdf format will a dll or an ocx, we are looking for a solution which can be initiated from cobol

I don't do it from Cobol, but I have used HTMLDOC to do this. It has a command line interface (not ActiveX or DLL) so you could write the HTML to a temp file and run the HTMLDOC converter on it to create the PDF (using CALL "SYSTEM"). You may also be able to pipe the HTML to it through stdin - I have never tried that.

HTMLDOC can be obtained as open source software through http://www.htmldoc.org. You will need Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 to compile it. (This is what we use.)

You can also get binaries for it by purchasing a commercial license from http://www.easysw.com/htmldoc.
