Has anyone run 8.1.0 under Windows 7.
Are there any serious issues, other than $FONT and the Icon display problems.

Hi Larry,

Version 8.1.2 is being certified for Windows 7 and should be out in January. Can you be specific about the W$FONT and icon problems you have encountered so we are sure they work in 8.1.2?

I have loaded Window 7. It's great so far. No problems.
As far as AcuGT goes, the complier works, and I have not discovered any other problems with the runtime.

I do not use $FONT so don't know. I was just refering to an earlier post where someone had a problem.

He might be referring to one of my posts, unless these are common problems.

In my ERP system, we used to press F6 to get a menu of selectable fonts. When I do this in Win7, nothing happens. The fonts already in use displays fine both in program and on prints, I just can't select new ones.

NB!The logo that wouldn't display was a local problem and was solved.

Larry will have to find the post he refers to if you want more details I guess.

Using AcuGT 8.1.00
I have a sequential file that I build and Sort it. Under XP is works fine.
Under Windows 7, it works only if I compile with debug. If not compiled with debug, I get an error "Illegal SORT".

Coding is as follows:

OPEN OUTPUT SORTED-CUST-AGE-FILE.
.......
....... (LOGIC THAT OUTPUTS SEQUENTIAL RECORDS)
.......
CLOSE SORTED-CUST-AGE-FILE.
SORT CUST-SORT-WORK-FILE ON ASCENDING KEY CUST-SORT-WORK-KEY
USING SORTED-CUST-AGE-FILE
GIVING SORTED-CUST-AGE-FILE.

The program bombs on the SORT command.

I ran a simple test program on my Windows 7 machine using 8.1.1 and did not encounter any issues when it performed a SORT.

I have attached the sample program used.

I installed 8.1.01 and the Sort Merge failure went away.
Thanks
