I'm totally new to AcuBench, and am attempting to create a new version of our Employee Maintenance program in AcuBench.

I'm running into a problem with the Value Variable. I want to change it from the generated value to something easier to remember (e.g. tabEM-VALUE).

When I go to compile it, I get an "undefined data item" error on tabEM-VALUE. But if I bring up the "Select Variable" box, the variable is there as a "Property-defined" variable. I can also see it in the Working Storage window.

Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Do you generate before compiling?

What control are you using with TABem-Value? as a tab control does not have a value.

Okay, bad example - you're right, a value variable isn't needed for the tab itself. But I run into the same situation with the Visible variables for each of the individual tabs. I get the "undefined data item" error, but when I bring up the list of variables they are there in the list as well as in the Working Storage screen.

And yes, I do generate before compiling. Should I, or shouldn't I?

Sadly, you have found a bug in AcuBench 8.1. When using the visible variable, AcuBench is not adding your data item into working storage. Please raise this issue wth Micro Focus Customer Care.

Okay my last entry was in error as I set AcuBench to generate a single program versus copybooks and I opened the copybook and saw that my-vis was not there. So, if you start a new project, put an entry field, set a visibile property for that entry field generate and compile - you get a compile rerror?

Can you zip your current project so I can assist?
