Our company is currently running Acucobol-Gt V5 which we believe will shortly run out of support.
Can you please advise our upgrade path options. Ideally we would like to migrate straight to V8. Is this possible?

You should contact your Micro Focus sales representative for this.

In general you should be able to go from v5 to v8 without much difficulties. The runtime is able to execute older versions of object files, so a v8 runtime will execute v5 code. As Gisle points out you should contact sales to get a copy of v8 so you can see if there are any gotchas in your code (such as calling a v5 runtime via system command to execute a different COBOL program), this is unlikely but you may have some code that needs tweaking.

Thanks for the responses. Will contact sales and get the ball rolling.
