I want to make use of all the ActiveX controls available on my computer through COBOL to eliminate any dependence on Visual BASIC. There are thousands of ActiveX controls included within Windows 2000 and ESRI MapObjects (GIS). I have loads of sample code written in VB that I want to translate into ACUCOBOL. Where can I get examples of such conversions?

My compliments for a good strategy!

Have you seen our Word MailMerge sample, provided elsewhere here in this forum? If not, let me know and I will post it to you, this project is an ACUCOBOL-GT rewrite of an original VB Word MailMerge example. This example has the id Q220607 on msdn, you will find it here:

If you find that hard, I can always send you a document in which the vb code has been slightly formatted so that the similarities appear a bit better.

These two codes are so similar that it should be possible to execute them step by step, side by side for those with that possibility.
